Food and natural resource security is a problem that impacts everybody, but the solutions can be supported by anybody. We can’t have food without farms, and we can’t keep the profession of farming alive and well without supporting our country’s producers. RIPE Platform: Payments over costs for agricultural conservation
About us
American producers have a pivotal role to play in tackling climate change, but they shouldn’t sacrifice their own livelihood in the process. Rural Investment to Protect Our Environment (RIPE) is a producer-led organization advancing national agricultural policy that would pay farmers and ranchers over costs for stewardship practices. Producers would earn payments for voluntarily implementing conservation practices that deliver public value through carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas reduction, improved soil health, water quality and other environmental services. Legislators on both sides of the aisle are interested in the RIPE platform but need to hear from producers before moving forward. Learn how you can get involved at RIPEroadmap.org/get-involved.

RIPE is proud to share that one of our directors, Brandon Hunnicutt (NE Farmer), has been appointed to the USDA Growing Climate Solutions Act Advisory Council. This council will support the Greenhouse Gas Technical Assistance Provider and Third-Party Verifier Program in facilitating the participation in voluntary environmental credit markets by farmers, ranchers, and private forest landowners, including beginning, socially disadvantaged, limited resource, and veteran farmers. Read more about Hunnicutt and our producer-led Board of Directors on our website: https://lnkd.in/eSUZsPJ7 To join our Media List and receive updates from RIPE such as this, visit the Media page on our website.

2024 was a great year for RIPE. We traveled to 11 states and met with producers from across the country. We held more than 45 meetings with Senate and House Ag Committee members on both sides of the political aisle. We shared our research about Renewable Energy on Farmland, and Regenerative Agriculture and Nutrition Best of all, we expanded our coalition and listened to the unique stories of rural America. Our work is not possible without your support! Whether it's a monetary donation, or participation in our storytelling campaigns, or telling your friends about us, or even just interacting with us on social media, a little bit goes a long way. Learn more on our website about how you can support RIPE and help us keep the momentum going into 2025 and beyond. While you’re there, check out our 2024 Report! https://lnkd.in/eNUHsTPU

Calling all producers! As we are working on our plans for 2025, we want to meet you and tell your story. What regenerative agriculture practices do you use? What do you think all Americans should know about farmers and ranchers? We’re designing a new storytelling campaign that will allow us to tell the stories of rural America, particularly historically-underserved producers. Interested in having RIPE tell your story?
