On October 11th, Rutgers Road to Supply Chain Leadership Program welcomed Professor Warren Powell for a lecture on a different method of approaching decision-making! Professor Powell discussed his universal framework for sequential decision problems and his new universal problem-solving approach. His core theme was that we need people who can answer three key questions: what are the metrics, what types of decisions need to be made and what are the sources of uncertainty. He demonstrated his approach with a number of common problems being solved in business every day. His provocative yet, insightful, presentation was greatly appreciated by the students. Thank you, Professor Powell, for joining us and sharing your knowledge with us!

Friday, some of our RSCL students and RBS students were given the opportunity to tour a Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages facility! Thank you to Michael Luber for the warm welcome and the entire Liberty Coca-Cola team for leading our students through a unique experience through production and warehousing!

This past Friday, RSCL hosted and participated in our own internal case competition! All teams showcased their talents in critical thinking, creativity, and public speaking throughout the competition, proving themselves as strong professionals. Congratulations to the winning team, Ryan Piro, Allan Peprah, Aiden De Meulder, Ishani Desai, and Karissa Rodriguez! Another congratulations to our second place team, Chirag Tahiliani, Kendra Benoit, Bryanna C., Cary Wong, and Giselle Hernandez! A big thank you to our judges, Professors Sundar Raman, John Hellriegel, David Dreyfus, Anthony Taitt, and Joe Agresta! We appreciate your time and experience being used to support the case competition!

Thank you to the Shiseido team for inviting our students for a site visit of their facility today! Students were able to walk through the manufacturing, production, and warehousing areas while they were active. This was an incredible learning experience for our students, so thank you Nicholas Murray for leading the event and Shiseido for the warm welcome!

Today completes RSCL's 2024 week-long summer course! Our course was designed to provide students with presentations, activities, and networking opportunities pulled from the experience and expertise of professionals that were so generous in joining us. Students were able to gain a deeper understanding on both technical skills, such as Python and Power BI, and soft skills, such as communication and emotional intelligence. Such a rewarding experience yesterday spending the afternoon with the students at Rutgers Business School as part of their Road to Supply Chain Leadership program. Delivering a #DaleCarnegie workshop on "Developing Personal Leadership" and offering insights to aspiring leaders was truly inspiring.
