Through a survivor-centered approach, Sakhi creates spaces where healing is rooted in safety, inclusion, and care. 💜 Messages from our “I Stand With Sakhi” cards, written by community members and survivors, highlight the strength and courage guiding our daily work. Healing is a powerful process—restoring dignity, building independence, and reclaiming emotional safety. These experiences inspire us to reimagine a gender justice movement grounded in survivor leadership. Support the vision for a more just and compassionate future by standing with survivors today. #Sakhi35Years #SupportSurvivors #CommunityHealing

✨ *A Day of Connection, Joy, and Magic!* ✨ Recently, Sakhi’s Community Engagement Program team hosted Navigate Your City, bringing survivors together for a meaningful day of community and celebration. We started with a delicious brunch at Mokafe in Times Square. From there, we stepped into the dazzling world of Broadway to experience Aladdin. The vibrant sets, music, and storytelling offered a moment to dream and embrace joy together. 🌟 These moments of connection and exploration are vital to healing, providing space to uplift the spirit, build community, and reclaim joy. Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this day special—we look forward to more opportunities to come together and celebrate resilience. 💜 #HealingThroughJoy #NavigateYourCity #CommunityCare #BroadwayMagic

Governor Hochul has signed Melanie’s Law, which extends orders of protection to include family and household members of survivors of violence. This change addresses a significant protection gap and ensures more people can be safeguarded from violence. As a founding member of The Collective, Sakhi is deeply proud to have advocated for this critical legislation. This victory results from the hard work of many organizations and advocates, and it’s a meaningful step toward better-protecting survivors and their loved ones. Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort to continue the fight for healing and liberation. #MelaniesLaw #SurvivorAdvocacy #GenderJustice #TheCollective #PolicyChange
