Imagine a maritime world in which vessels, ports, shipyards, classification societies, government import & export authorities, immigration and shore-based support offices are all connected? Last night the Chairman of our Social Committee (Stelios Palazis), pictured with our CEO, Julian Panter hosted the SmartSea Christmas party at the wonderful Lithos Concept Bar, Limassol. The atmosphere, food, cocktails, music, and venue was all incredible and every one of the team enjoyed their evening. SmartSea was launched in May of this year and has come such a long way since then due to the dedication and hard work of the team. Last night was a great chance to celebrate 2024. Festive greetings to all of our clients, partners, suppliers, colleagues and shareholders.

Our Director, Technology Sales Simon Fotakis recently did an interview with Splash Maritime and Offshore News (splash247.com) in which he discussed some key technology trends around AI and Cyber Security. Simon has over 25 years of experience in technology and a particular specialist interest in cyber security, so his views are always well considered and informed by his hands on knowledge of the industry. In the article Simon talks about how SmartSea is leveraging aviation grade technologies from our shareholder SITA and that the maritime industry is becoming more advanced from a technology perspective, however, with these advances the industry needs to be more aware and advanced in terms of cyber security. Yesterday evening, our CEO, Julian Panter was honoured to attend the Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards at the Intercontinental Hotel in the wonderful city of Athens. The awards were a brilliant opportunity for the Greek Shipping and Maritime community to come together and celebrate 2024. Julian also used this event as a chance to talk about SmartSea. The team at SmartSea would like to thank Christopher Adams and Seatrade Maritime for inviting Julian to the event.
