For the team TNT Sports U.S., the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game at the Chase Center in San Francisco this weekend has some extra emotion to it given that it will be the last for the network, ending a run that began in 2003. The weekend’s activities - which include broadcasts from the Chase Center of the Rising Stars on Friday night, All-Star Saturday Night tonight, and the game Sunday, will get the quality production they deserve and have always received. https://lnkd.in/ePpmKzEf chris brown | VANESSA LINDSEY | Dan Nabors, Jr. | Travis C. | William Cook | Jonathan Bywaters | Matt Lipp | Kristen Brown | Douglas Haskin | Chris Monroe

This weekend marks an entirely new experience for ESPN’s College GameDay as they will be working back to back Saturday and Sunday. The No. 1 Auburn mens basketball team is taking on No. 2 Alabama, while the No. 7 UConn women’s basketball team matches up against. No. 4 South Carolina. Planning for these matchups began in late October, and it took until January to determine where the first game destinations will be. Coming hot off the tails of the College Football Playoffs and Championship means a tight turnaround for the crew to get all that they need in order. Coverage of the men’s games relies on Game Creek Video GameDay mobile unit; Illumination Dynamics for lighting; WEST RIVER LIGHT & SOUND, INC. for the staging/PA mix; CP Communications for RF audio; the JayBird Jibs jib camera; a Bristol, CT-based Steadicam operation; and a new 7- by 13-ft. Versa Screen by Go Vision for talent talkbacks, deeper analysis, and breakdowns. The women’s shows have been using a Live Media Group, LLC HD21 Lucie mobile unit, which is the same truck used for SEC Nation during the college-football season; True Grip staging, lighting, and PA mix; Faction Media Steadicam and operator; CP Communications RF audio; and JayBird Jibs jib camera. This week, a new workflow will be introduced: a live interview during the show will deploy a Proto Luma Hologram system. “We are super excited for both shows and the games that will follow. Bringing the final weeks of the season to fans, when the excitement is at its highest, is fun and rewarding.” - Judi Weiss, manager, remote operations, ESPN Aaron Katzman | Chris Brennan | Tom Lucas | Stephen Widuch | Jake Daigle | Danny Reifert | Franca Focareta | Baron Miller | Michelle Rosenhouse | Melissa Saucedo | Fred Clow | Kristianna Bryant | Megan Cain | Leah Morgenstern 🏀 : https://lnkd.in/e7RBcNAt

You likely caught that shoutout to cameraman Don Cornelli on last night's Super Bowl broadcast on FOX Sports. He's an all-timer; arguably the best handheld camera operator in the history of televised football. His tribute video at his Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame induction in 2021 is one of our favorites that we have done:

Ensuring that there are no problems with this years Super Bowl is Game Creek Video. The crew of over 20 staffers is on site in the middle of the action with two mobile units, Game Creek Video Encore and PrimeOne producing both the game and the pregame studio shows. But it’s not just stateside that the Game Creek units are being used for, but the international feed as well. “This has been an all-season-long endeavor. We add a little bit every week during the season and then add a little more during the playoffs and the NFC Championship, where we can add PrimeOne. When we get here, we just need to do the integration with the other trucks, the integration with the FOX Jewel event kit, and the integration with Bourbon Street. It is very much a cumulative process.” - Matthew Caron 🚚 : https://lnkd.in/eeh3Q3qa

Despite this year being a FOX Sports Super Bowl year, ESPN is on site in NOLA while preparing for LA in 2027. With five studio spots around the city, ESPN is hosting a variety of studio programming for fans at home, as well as in downtown New Orleans. The main studio show was on Fulton Street Square, and hosted programs like ‘Get Up’, ‘First Take’ and more. Coordination and planning for this began on Monday, with live programming beginning just the following day. Over on Media Row, two sets were constructed for the Pat McAfee Show and ESPN Radio. By Friday, all but one of these sets were broken down, as the studio shows will be transitioning to the stadium for content live from the Big Game. Most all of the network’s production models include some form of remote integration, where they are transmitting signals back to the network’s headquarters in Bristol, CT to be fully produced in control rooms there. “What stands out the most is the scale of our operations. Not only from a technical aspect, but also logistics and personnel resources. In all areas we’ve become more lean and agile, which obviously benefits our bottom line, when all is said and done.” - Carlton Young, Director, Remote Operations for ESPN Mark Mignini Live Media Group, LLC 🎙️ : https://lnkd.in/eYjNgN82
