Congratulations to our Stämmer of the Week, Joaquín Cortés! Joaquín and his team achieved a significant milestone: they integrated oxygen sensors into Stämm’s 3D-printed bioreactor. This innovation puts us on the path to ensure precise measurements. They do so at cultivation temperature, a critical factor when measuring gases. This integration reflects a pragmatic approach, continuing to develop their long-term electrochemical sensor technology in-house. The team automated sensor calibration to provide a needed feature. They also integrated it with our sampling platform, making it easier to use and reducing human intervention. Now, they focus on simplifying the system to surpass current sensors in cost, performance, and longevity. Their reusable, sterilizable design aims to fill market gaps and align with our sustainability commitment. Joaquín's leadership has fostered the team’s motivation and alignment with the company’s objectives. They achieved a critical short-term solution while driving long-term innovation. Thank you, Joaquín, for inspiring progress within Stämm’s vision!

Congratulations to our Stämmer of the Week, Franco Calderón! Franco designed PCR primers, short segments of DNA, which are essential in amplifying DNA for studying specific regions of the genetic code. This process generates numerous DNA copies, which can then be isolated, sequenced, and analyzed. His work complements environmental DNA extraction techniques, which analyze the biodiversity in a given sample and drive the exploration of economically significant organisms. Underrepresented areas in genetic studies hold vast potential, from untapped native species to local strains that could shape future bioengineering innovations. Leveraging all available sequences, writing new code, and developing fresh analysis routines will allow us to identify novel species in any sample: a key endeavor to study and exploit new areas of biotechnology interest that could contribute to biodiversity studies. Thank you, Franco, for applying your expertise to propel innovation at Stämm!

Congratulations to our Stämmer of the Week, Gastón Corti! Gastón’s team achieved a breakthrough that fosters the development of our in-house Sclereid 3D Printer. They introduced continuous printing and slashed print times from 1 hour to 10 minutes. Enhancing speed? Check. Guaranteed quality? Check. They also reduced mechanical stress on the printed parts, minimizing errors, saving materials, and lowering costs while boosting efficiency. With this approach, Stämm can achieve high-resolution printing without sacrificing speed, increasing prints per hour, accelerating single-use bioreactor output, and skyrocketing print success rates. This innovation is a game-changer for our product ecosystem. It allows the production of larger bioreactors in less time, a crucial advantage for future biomanufacturing. This success comes from a team that gathers ideas, explores alternatives, and makes successive improvements. Through agile iterations and incremental changes, they turned a prototype into a breakthrough. Thank you, Gastón, for driving continuous progress at Stämm!

Congratulations to our Stämmers of the week, the Electronics Department! This week, the Electronics Department developed a modular control device designed to meet the evolving needs of our bioprocessing solutions. To future-proof the solution, they made a multi-purpose device. This reflects their approach to problem-solving: creating modular, adaptable solutions that integrate seamlessly across diverse applications. Their device was developed to standardize controls across our product ecosystem, offering versatility. Modular solutions save time and resources in an industry where customization often implies starting from scratch. They allow for scaling, reducing complexity, and consistent performance—all while offering the flexibility to adapt to new processes without requiring major redesigns. The team sets a new milestone by adhering to industry-grade standards and ensuring robust performance and compatibility with broader commercial solutions. Thanks to the Electronics Department for developing flexible and impactful solutions! #Biotech #Innovation #ModularDesign #FutureProof #Teamwork Francisco Tripodi, Maximiliano Rinaldi, Leandro Orza, Pablo Federico Orellana, Daniela Feoli Grant, Rocío Pesoa, Alan Velazquez
