As a Lebanese American, I’ve spent over a decade (really, over two!) promoting our culture positively and supporting the Middle Eastern community both locally and internationally through my work. I’m incredibly grateful for this recognition by the Cleveland Magazine team and humbled to be selected among such an amazing group for Cleveland Magazine's Most Interesting People 2025. This motivates me to continue doing what I love and to keep supporting causes close to my heart, including my current work as a 2025 nominee for Woman of Impact with the American Heart Association (campaign launches early 2025, had to give it a little shoutout ☺️🫶🏼). I also loved the mention of our kids! Last Thursday, I attended a powerful screening of Show Her The Money at Cleveland State University. The film highlights that women founders receive less than 2% of venture capital funding. Despite this troubling stat, the event was full of optimism and ideas for change. Here are a few moments from the night: - Thanks to Britt Corsi, who randomly messaged me for lunch, which turned into a fun two-hour conversation (highlighted by stories from her own entrepreneurial journey), where she invited me to this event. Amazing how a spontaneous lunch can lead to such a memorable and inspiring day! 🙌 - Sat with Britt, Sarah Marilyn Barrick, Jerry Jarzabek, CFP® CPWA®, and John P. Keller, who each have different roles in the space, sparking great discussions. - Caught up with Tina Lattouf Chamoun, owner of Terranean Herbs & Spices, an incredible individual and entrepreneur who went to law school with me and high school with my wife—small world! 🌍 - Ran into Danielle Buchinsky, who’s eagerly awaiting her bar results this Friday (fingers crossed). I look forward working with her again soon and I’m sure she’s just as excited as I am for me to serve her—I mean, give her all the glamorous work assignments! 😜 It was also great to meet her mom Lynn Buchinsky, one of the event’s organizers. - A special shoutout to fellow Cleveland Animal Protective League board member Ageleke Vlahos Zapis for supporting the All Rise: A Festival of Film & Law, co-hosted by alma mater Cleveland State University College of Law , and the Cleveland State University School of Film & Media Arts, where this impactful documentary was showcased. 🎉 Following the film, panelists—Fiona Chambers, Teresa Lindsey, Vicky Pasche, Mary Kate Loftus, Lynn-Ann Gries, and Mike Ma—brought an incredibly enlightening perspective on women navigating the venture capital world, emphasizing the power of breaking barriers and seizing untapped opportunities.
