Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to continue advancing our mission—tackling critical food systems challenges, promoting environmental responsibility, and creating lasting value for all. • Reflections on Kennedy Comba’s Address at WRI Africa’s Global Event 🌱 At The Aquaculture Consortium (TAC), we are deeply committed to tackling the critical issue of food loss and waste (FLW) across our value chains. Today, our COO, Kennedy Comba, had the honor of speaking at a prestigious global event hosted by WRI Africa, where he shared the challenges and progress of our partners—Vemric Fish, Kamida Ltd, Viking Agri-Venture, and Jumbo Fish Farm. The journey isn’t without its hurdles, from fish spoilage at Vemric to post-harvest losses at Jumbo Fish Farm. Yet, our shared drive toward sustainability propels us forward. By embracing the WRI FLW measurement protocol, we are not only identifying and tracking these losses but actively working to reduce them. Tools like the AgriGrowth app and our collaborations with Val School and ASDSP II are making a real impact. We echo Kennedy’s call to industry leaders—collaboration is key. Let’s unite in sharing data, strategies, and insights to pave the way for a sustainable future for all. 🌱✨ #Sustainability #FoodWasteReduction #Aquaculture #Agriculture #Innovation #GlobalPartnerships #TAC #WRI #SustainableFuture

Excited to represent The Aquaculture Consortium at a Global Event on Food Loss and Waste Measurement by WRI Africa . Today, at a globally recognized event, I had the privilege of presenting the collective efforts of Vemric Fish, Kamida Ltd, Viking Agri-Venture, and Jumbo Fish Farm in tackling food loss and waste (FLW) across our value chains. We face challenges every day—from spoilage in fish processing at Vemric to inefficiencies in agriculture at Kamida and Viking, and post-harvest losses at Jumbo Fish Farm. However, our commitment to sustainability drives us to address these issues head-on. By adopting the World Resources Institute (WRI) FLW measurement protocol, we've begun to accurately track and mitigate these losses, aligning our operations with global best practices. Through collaboration and innovation, particularly with tools like the AgriGrowth app, and partnerships with institutions like Val School and ASDSP II, we're making meaningful strides in reducing FLW. This is just the beginning. We're calling on industry players to join us in sharing data, strategies, and insights to collectively push forward. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future for our industries. #Sustainability #FoodWasteReduction #Aquaculture #Agriculture #Innovation #GlobalPartnerships
