We’re officially adding “Best in Business” to our resume. Alethea has been named to Inc. Magazine's 2024 Best in Business List in the AI and Data category. This recognition celebrates companies that make a significant impact on their industries and society at large through groundbreaking innovation and exceptional execution.    On the heels of this recognition, we’re proud of the meaningful progress we've made, including tripling our revenue, doubling our client base, and expanding into key verticals such as retail, financial services, and critical infrastructure.    Since our founding in 2019, we’ve held a core belief that’s only gained urgency in recent years: no company is immune to targeted disinformation attacks that erode trust, disrupt operations, and damage reputations. Being recognized by Inc. is a powerful reminder of the importance of our mission and affirms the impact we’re making in helping organizations navigate today’s complex and chaotic digital world.    Read more via: https://lnkd.in/gENF65fQ   #Awards #Data #Cybersecurity #Disinformation

Alethea’s CEO, Lisa Kaplan, recently led critical conversations on online risk, disinformation, and hybrid warfare, highlighting the pressing need for organizations to address and prevent these pervasive threats.   During these events, Lisa emphasized that disinformation poses significant corporate security and communications risks across all industries. The consequences of conspiracy theories and false narratives can erode public trust and credibility, fuel violence and threats against employees, and burn time, resources, and C-Suite energy.   To mitigate these risks, it’s imperative to extend your security perimeter by implementing robust threat detection solutions to distinguish real threats from false alarms, enhancing security for high-profile executives, improving facility security and implementing training for employees to handle physical security threats.   Thanks to Center for European Policy Analysis, Institute for Public Relations, Emergent Risk International and OSAC Europe for including us in the conversation to discuss these issues and the most important point: the need for data that brings clarity, greater certainty, and a predictive value to strategic risk management decisions.

  • Nearly half of TikTok users ages 18-29 engage with the platform to keep up with news, politics, or political issues, according to Pew Research Center. This is indicative of the shift in news and media consumption, and for retail brands, this means that public stances on issues – and disinformation about a brand’s policies or actions – are increasingly likely to become high-visibility, crisis issues.   At the National Retail Federation Communicators’ Network annual meeting in New York City, Alethea CEO Lisa Kaplan tackled this growing issue during her panel "Retail Brands Under Fire: Building Brand Resilience to Combat False and Misleading Narratives."   Alongside Preston Golson of Brunswick Group, Lisa emphasized that retail communicators and leadership teams cannot depend solely on social media companies or government regulations to safeguard their brands. Instead, brands need to focus on building proactive strategies that anticipate and stay ahead of disinformation to prevent reputational damage.   Learn more about what is top of mind for retail communicators here: https://lnkd.in/gBqAvYi7 #retail #disinformation #brandresilience #communicators

In the aftermath of last week's election, the intelligence community has been trying to figure out what role (if any) disinformation and foreign influence operations played in determining the results and what the future of countering disinformation efforts looks like from a public and private sector lens. Alethea CEO Lisa Kaplan spoke to Axios and the The Wall Street Journal on the endemic nature of disinformation in today's society, and the broader question of what efforts to combat disinformation and foreign IO will look like going forward. Spoiler: the government won't save you, and organizations will be left to fend for themselves when it comes to protecting their employees, brand and reputation, and business operations. That's where we can help. Axios: https://lnkd.in/gqwVbm-W WSJ: https://lnkd.in/gCA8WeUY #disinformation #elections
