Seven years ago today, on April 9, 2017, I penned an article right here on LinkedIn titled "The Things We Think and Dare Not Say." It was more than just an article; it was a vision, a bold plan to revolutionize the way we address the challenges of Driver Shortage, Turnover, and Retention in the trucking industry. The journey since then has been filled with hurdles, setbacks, and moments of doubt. I've come to realize that some within the industry have a vested interest in maintaining these problems rather than solving them. Yet, despite the resistance and the skeptics, I've remained steadfast in my commitment to driving change. Recently, a former VP at U.S. Xpress, Inc. shared with me the challenges faced in implementing even a simple A/B testing scenario with our Star Behaviors, LLC Behavioral Assessment. It wasn't our Assessment that was the issue. It was the "corporate mentality and egos" that prevented moving forward. It's disheartening to witness egos overshadowing innovation, but history has shown us where such paths lead. However, I refuse to succumb to disillusionment. The setbacks only fuel my determination to press forward. As we stand on the brink of launching the most comprehensive Behavioral Assessment for Truck Drivers and the groundbreaking Driver Job Board, TruckThisJob, I'm reminded of the resilience of our industry.
