About us

Scout is an easy-to-use prospecting tool to sell smarter; find and enrich leads with multiple data sources, launch sequences that send conditional follow ups and call tasks that treat people differently based on # of opens, link clicks, product usage and more. We have a “RevOps-in-a-box” approach every step of the way - data sources are already set up for you, email data is validated, phone numbers are cross-compared against WhatsApp, and we avoid any duplicates going into your CRM. Reps never have to watch their analytics again to be timely with their follow-ups. Set rules based on if prospects do (or don't do) something, product usage metrics, and more to trigger different follow ups and tasks - and get back to more meetings and closing.

    2025 is going to be wild. Here are a few things we’ll be releasing to ring in the new year at Scout that I am VERY excited about: 1. Omni-channel automation: no more “email-only”… 😉 2. PERSON-level lookalikes: yes…you read that right. Enter a few LinkedIn profiles and we’ll return hundreds (or thousands) of people that look exactly the same based on personal AND company characteristics. 🔎 3. New pricing model: we’re shifting to a mostly consumption-based model with a small platform fee to get access to all features (campaigns, lookalikes, etc). Why pay for things you don’t need? 🤑 The next 12 months will be VERY interesting in tech. If you’re not innovating, you’re dying. Can’t wait ✌️✌️✌️

    Two things that have always driven me crazy with outreach tools: 1. Most are incapable of automating multi-channel outreach (e.g. combining email automation with LinkedIn automation) 2. No logic-based follow up triggers using LinkedIn data (e.g. I send someone a connection request, if they accept do X, if they don't, do Y) Within the next couple of weeks, both of these will be possible with Scout. It's something we've been working on for a while, and I couldn't be more excited. If anyone wants to test it out, hit me up. Screenshot below of what the workflow/UI will look like :)

    Here's what gets me about the whole AI SDR thing: It's actually not the tech. The tech will improve over time, and not be complete spray and pray. What gets me is that companies are relying on someone that doesn't work at their company to build the AI SDR for them. They are relying on other people (for the most part) to... 1. Build a list 2. Create messaging 3. Build the campaign structure 4. Create offers / call-to-actions 5. Track metrics That is like....peak laziness, no? If you're going to use an AI SDR, at least build it yourself and know what it's putting out there! At Scout we've built a simple interface that lets you build your own AI SDR the same way these companies are building them for you.     We don't talk about Scout's mobile data quality enough. Time and time again we hear we have the best data coverage & quality from people who have evaluated several major vendors. But how do we have such strong coverage & quality? Two reasons: 1. We combine all of the best mobile data sources into one, and have spent TONS of time researching. 2. We have additional validation checks that most others don't. If anyone out there is struggling with mobile data and needs a better solution, we're always happy to provide samples. Just DM me. If you need proof...peep the screenshot below. Disclaimer: we're not the MOST expensive, but if you're looking for cheap data, let's not waste anyone's time. You get what you pay for :)

    I don't like posting on LinkedIn (just ask Dean Sloves). But if you're not building your brand here, your cold outreach will suffer. Here's why: When you contact a stranger, they'll check you out. There are so many scammers & weirdos out there. I would NEVER reply before making sure someone is legit. If you don't seem credible, you won't get replies. There's a lot of information about people online now. If you're not visible, you're at a disadvantage. Sucks, but it's true. Just a friendly reminder for those dreading that next post :) Happy Friday!!!

    "It's almost too simple...I feel like I'm missing something." - Yousuf Ali talking about Scout on our call earlier today. Yousuf was using one of the "big" outbound prospecting tools prior to discovering Scout (if you can guess who in the comments I'll give you a cookie 🍪). He seemed a bit fed up with the poor data quality and clunky workflows. This is such a helpful reminder -- people do NOT need a zillion features. They need something that is simple, and effective (especially if they're a busy Founder like Yousuf). Sometimes it's easy to forget that we started Scout to truly simplify outbound prospecting. If anyone else is feeling like Yousuf and is in need of a change...you know where to find us :) Happy Monday! 🚀🚀🚀

    While everyone is worried about following the "rules" of outbound email I'm literally over here sending cat memes and getting replies. Here are some rules that I absolutely DO NOT follow: 1. "Don't send links" - dude, come on. You really think someone is going to type your company name in Google to research you after reading your email? Get real. 2. "Don't send images" - again, come on. Some products are highly visual, and the best way to show value is through images. Memes are fun too. 3. "Write like a professional" - when is the last time you saw a high flying exec write like your school teachers told you to? I write very casually and at times am intentionally unprofessional because it feels more human. Sue me! Do the same things as everyone else, and you'll get the same results. Where my fellow anti-rule followers at??
