A huge shoutout to everyone who attended our event, “Reimagining Systems to Elevate Women in Global Health Leadership.” 🙌 Missed the event? No worries! You can catch up on the discussion by accessing the recording online here: https://lnkd.in/giHnr2i6 🎥✨ We explored the critical need for equity, diversity, and inclusion in health leadership, emphasising their importance in driving meaningful change and fostering more effective global health systems. Here are some key takeaways: - Underrepresentation in Leadership: Less than 34% of WHO’s senior leadership were women in 2022. We need more women in top decision-making roles across the health environment! 🚺💼 - Global Commitment & SDGs: Progress on SDG 5 for gender equality is slow. We must tackle challenges like the burden of unpaid care work and discriminatory laws that hinder women’s full participation and advancement in society. 📉⚖️ - Empowering Women Through Policy: Gender-responsible policies are essential to move beyond tokenism and empower women in decision-making positions. 📝✨ - Transformative Leadership: Let’s shift from traditional models to inclusive, transformative leadership that empowers women across all health sectors. 🌟💪 We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Assistant Minister Ged Kearney for opening our event! 🙏 A special shoutout to Ms Janelle Weissman for her invaluable insights, to Prof. Sara E Davies and A/Prof Meru Sheel for sharing their expertise with us, and to Ms Rachel Mather for expertly moderating the discussion! 🎓✨A huge thank you Your contributions made this event a success! 👏 Thank you once again for being part of this vital conversation. Together, we can drive change and empower women in global health leadership! 💪🌍💖 #WomenInLeadership #GlobalHealth #DiversityAndInclusion #Empowerment
