The 6G-MUSICAL project had the opportunity to join the SNS Phase 1 & 2 Online Workshop on Integrated Sensing and Communication Towards #6G! 🌐 It was an amazing day, with 9 innovative EU-funded projects, including Hexa-X-II, SNS BeGREEN Project, 6G-SENSES, TIMES 6G, 6G-DISAC, INSTINCT, iSEE-6G, and TERRAMETA Project, all sharing their insights on the future of 6G. Key insights were also provided by ETSI and 3GPP, with discussions on global affiliations and 6G use case contributions. Our project coordinator, Prof. Atilio Gameiro (Instituto de Telecomunicações) gave an insightful presentation on 6G-MUSICAL’s vision of bringing communication and sensing together for the next generation of ultra-precise, synchronized networks. We are proud to share that #today, together with Telsy and MEO, #QTI presented a live trial of #QKD-enabled secure communications at the European Quantum Technology Conference (#EQTC2024) in Lisbon. This collaboration successfully demonstrated #quantum-secure connectivity over a combined #terrestrial and #submarine fibre optic network in the metropolitan area of #Lisbon. The live QKD trial was showcased on stage at the Opening Session of EQTC by Pierangela Pitzolu and Massimiliano Cascio from Telsy and Alessandro Zavatta and Giacomo Ferranti from QTI. Key Highlights: • Deployment of QTI’s advanced #QuellX QKD devices and #TelsyMusaX encryptors developed by Telsy to secure the live traffic. • Protection of a videoconference using #TelsyAntares software by Telsy connecting EQTC’s venue at Culturgest with the Sesimbra cable landing station via a trusted node in Carcavelos. • Implementation over #MEO’s live terrestrial and underwater fibre infrastructure, optimizing #digital security in Lisbon’s complex urban landscape. Developed within the EQUO - European QUantum ecOsystems project, the trial represents a significant step toward robust, quantum-level security for #Europe’s infrastructure.
