We’re proud to have been part of the Turkey Toss volunteer event, working alongside amazing people to provide turkeys to families in need. Giving back to the community is a core value of our team, and events like this remind us of the power of kindness.

It is urgent to raise awareness on tragic migration processes, in Central America, in the transit country of Panama. The jungle of Darien is, actually, a migration route, constituting a context of heighten danger, particularly, for children and women. #childrensrights #childprotection #migration #violenceagainstwomen #violenceagainstchildren #migrationprocess
A tragedy is unfolding in the Darién Gap, a dense and dangerous jungle route used for migration between North and South America. 46,000 children have crossed it this year, facing abject danger on the way. This is how UNICEF is supporting them.

🛑 This is a perfect example of the difficulties we face in fundraising. Recently, a comment on our fundraiser tweet said, "Y’all haven’t pickpocketed and scammed enough money from tourists in Europe to fund your little project?" This kind of stereotype is not only hurtful but also detrimental to the efforts of organizations like the World Roma Federation. Not all Roma are pickpockets and thieves, just as not all Mexicans are in cartels or all Italians are in the mafia. Such harmful stereotypes create significant obstacles in our mission to support and uplift Roma communities through legitimate and impactful projects. At the World Roma Federation, we are dedicated to creating sustainable housing, educational opportunities, and better living conditions for marginalized Roma communities. We believe in transparency, accountability, and the power of constructive dialogue. It's time to end these stereotypes and work together to create positive change. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission. Let's continue to fight for equality and justice. #EndStereotypes #SupportRoma #FundraisingChallenges #Equality #SocialJustice

🔵Again about Modern volunteering As most of you know, nowadays volunteering is more than just giving your time—it's also about personal growth and skill development. Recently, as part of our commitment to supporting those who have fled the war in Ukraine, we organised three skill-building training sessions for our volunteers. These sessions were designed to empower them with knowledge and skills essential for supporting vulnerable people. A huge thanks to Tetiana Khoroshylova, an experienced therapist with extensive expertise working with internally displaced persons in Ukraine, who led the sessions: 1️⃣ Fundamentals of Psychological Support for Refugees 2️⃣ Cultural Sensitivity and Tolerance 3️⃣ Stress Management and Self-Care 💡 Results: 86% of participants found the training highly useful and said they would definitely apply these skills in practice! On behalf of myself and the entire House of Helsinki team, a heartfelt thank you to Tetiana for her valuable contribution and to all our volunteers for their dedication. 💙💛 #Volunteering #SkillDevelopment #HouseOfHelsinki #SupportForUkraine

Thanks Norm M. For raising this issue. It’s topical and controversial. Many of the people having an opinion are unfortunately arm chair warriors. They want to lay blame and make suggestions without actually contributing. My thoughts are it’s not a crisis and isn’t and issue we can resolve. There are no builders, supply chain or land available for all the solutions the government and people raise. We need to face facts that a segment of Austalia’s population is homeless and likely always will be. The challenge is reecognising this community and how we can support them better. The answer is through NGO & NFP services. The government should redirect housing programs to supporting homeless services. NFP are more agile than government or industry and have established service provision foot prints through out Australia. The arm chair warriors need to do get active in their support. They need to canvas their local, state and commonwealth members to redirect funding and support these services. They then need to rise from behind computers and volunteer their time to these services. Hiding our heads in the sand and making fierce statements will not help these people. Only Australians becoming actively involved will. Again we’ll done for your efforts Norm. Greetings fellow LinkedIn! About a year ago, I took a leap of faith and founded Bridge H2OPE, a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit dedicated to providing clean and safe drinking water to rural Ethiopian communities. It's astonishing to think that over two billion people lack access to this basic human need that we often take for granted and over 40% of my people in Ethiopia also lack this basic need. As the executive director, I am proud of the progress we have made, with over 1,200 individuals now having access to clean water. I am optimistic about the future and believe that with the right strategies, we can end this water crisis. If you are looking for ways to make a difference, here are three simple ways to support our cause: follow us (on social @bridge_h2ope) and subscribe to our email updates (https://lnkd.in/ektCkZNj 📧) contribute to our launching fundraising campaign (https://lnkd.in/ekzbpjiv), or join us at our official launching party if you are in the DC-Metro area on July 14th, 2-5pm ET (RSVP ticket at https://lnkd.in/ev7wQSAM. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that everyone on this planet has access to this essential need. Renk town in #SouthSudan has been a refuge for people fleeing the war in #Sudan since April 2023. As of early this month, nearly 739,000 refugees and returnees have crossed over to the neighbouring country in search of safety. The influx of people has quickly swamped transit centres, which are now overpopulated and strained well beyond capacity, with tens of thousands stranded in and around the sites, and more streaming into Renk and other border towns. This has put immense pressure on the already severely limited resources available. Most families live in crowded and inadequate makeshift tents, some for prolonged periods of time. Conditions are dire, perpetuating suffering. There isn’t enough food, water, shelter, sanitation facilities or medical care, and many people arrive injured, acutely malnourished or ill, having walked for weeks to get there. They've had to leave a whole part of their lives behind and start all over with nothing but what they managed to carry. The journey is perilous and distressing, fraught with challenges. While they've escaped conflict up north, life down south is not untroubled. 👉 Swipe for heart-wrenching stories of horror, loss and trauma, but also incredible strength and resilience.
