The old saying “Time kills all deals” couldn’t be more relevant right now. We’re finding businesses taking their time to interview with the ‘lets get them in in two weeks’ approach. It’s really hampering their ability to hire the right people. And it’s the same on the candidate side, regardless of industry, generally you’re up against 2 or 3 others. The takeaway is 👉 move things around and make things happen to increase your chances of landing that role or hiring that candidate. #Recruitment #Recruiting #Jobsearching

One big hiring mistake small businesses make: Underestimating how time-consuming and costly hiring can be. It takes a lot of work to prepare, recruit, interview, and choose the right candidate. The thing is, hiring *should* be a little difficult. Great employees don’t just randomly pop up. What does your hiring process look like? #hr #hiring

Before you blame your recruiter for $h!t service... pause. Recruitment isn’t a transaction - it’s a partnership. you need to give time to get time. If results aren’t landing, ask yourself: - Have you nailed the brief? - are you asking for a unicorn? - Shared the REAL must-haves? - Is your EVP competitive? - is your interview process killing candidate experience? Great outcomes need collaboration. Think of it like watering a plant—without care and attention, it won’t thrive. Reflect. Adjust. And if it’s still $h!t service? Then maybe it’s time to blame the recruiter! 😉 #recruitment #hiringmanager #talentacquisition #talentpartner #Partnership

How to Close the Gap: Understanding Candidate & Management Goals with Video The current recruiting landscape demands a focus on aligning candidate aspirations with management expectations. But recruiters often struggle to bridge this gap. Here are 3 steps to bridge this gap, with a bonus tip utilising video: Targeted questioning: Dig deeper than “why this company?” Uncover a #candidate’s career goals and ideal work enviroment. In-depth manager conversations: Go beyond the job description. Understand the team culture, #growth #opportunities, and challenges the new hire will face. Structured communication: Clearly convey both the candidate's goals and management's expectations throughout the process. Transparency fosters long-term #success for all. Additionally, leverage Video Introductions: Encourage hiring managers to create short video introductions about their teams and the role. This allows #candidates to see the work environment and team dynamics firsthand. By implementing these steps, recruiters can gain a more comprehensive understanding of both sides, leading to better matches, reducing turnover, and creating a win-win for both candidates and companies. #staffing #recruiting #talenthacking #careeradvice #videointerviewing #mga #videomarketing #solutions

The most important stage of the hiring process is role discovery. ✨ This is when recruiters and hiring managers come together to discuss the details of the position they need to fill. Asking the right questions is so important.📝 Here’s what I do: I record a 60-90 minute conversation, document it, and provide a copy to my client before starting the search. This ensures I have a deep understanding of the role, so I can confidently answer any candidate questions. If recruiters can’t answer questions, there’s a high chance of losing strong candidates during the process. #DefineHR #RecruitmentProcess #RoleDiscovery

I’ll be honest, since returning to recruitment after many years, when I tell people I’m a recruiter, I get a look. You know the one. For years, our industry has been painted with the same broad brush: ❌ Pushy. ❌ Transactional. ❌ Only in it for the commission. It frustrates me, because for so many of us, recruitment is about people, not profits. I love what I do because I get to: ✅ Help candidates find roles that genuinely change their lives. ✅ Help businesses build teams that transform their future. ✅ Be a bridge between talent and opportunity. So here’s my question: Why do recruiters still have such a bad reputation? What are we getting wrong, and how do we fix it? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts. Let’s talk. #TechRecruitment #Whydoyouhateme? #MakeADifference

One of the biggest struggles I face recruiting is getting hiring managers comfortable with employment gaps. There are as many reasons for employment gaps as there are people on this earth. You know how they say not to get too personally involved with your colleagues? That starts in the interview process. Employment gaps are none of our business. You know what is our business? Whether or not the work history they do have is relevant to the role we're filling. Whether or not they can work on a team or take direction. Whether or not they care about our mission. We look for reasons to hire someone, not to pass them over. #HumanResources #Recruitment #Hiring #HiringManagers
