In the Fort McMurray 468 First Nation IESG Report, we address the importance of economic reconciliation to bridge the disparities between Indigenous Peoples and the broader society, and we call on industry and government to consider this when approaching partnerships. Fostering strong partnerships includes supporting Indigenous entrepreneurship by creating and implementing company policies that empower and honour Indigenous land rights and cultural perspectives. This will help foster economic self-sufficiency and build a stronger, self-reliant FMFN468 economy, which ensures long-lasting, mutually successful partnerships for years to come. We are proud of the partnerships we have established over the years which have helped create positive impacts and long-term benefits for the Nation and its Members. Civi society organisations and the EESC have to play more active role in the governance of the TA 2030 and contribute to the priorities that have been set. Stefano Palmieri, former President of the ECO Section of the EESC and rapporteur of the opinion on the Revision of the Territorial Agenda 2030 highlights the example of the LEADER/CLLD program, where public and private entities collaborate effectively. Palmieri emphasizes the need for a similar approach in Integrated Territorial Investments (ITIs) to ensure a "balanced view of the community's development needs."
