🌿 Publication Alert: The bodily experiences of AYAs 🌿 I am honored to share our latest research, "‘There is still a part of me that would love to be the old me again’, how do adolescents and young adults (AYA) experience cancer-related bodily changes: a phenomenological interview study", now published in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship. https://lnkd.in/etBqd5dz This study is a profound exploration of the lived experiences of individuals facing the physical and emotional changes, brought on by cancer and following treatments. May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, which celebrates the histories of Americans from across the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. While generally speaking, Asian Americans experience lower cancer rates when compared to the non-Hispanic White population in the United States, there are cancer disparities for certain types of cancer and among certain AAPI subgroups. In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The Hormel Institute's Clinical Research and Outreach Lead Emily Heath explores specific cancer risks for AAPI individuals and steps that may help reduce existing disparities.
