Rhodamine-B is a synthetic dye commonly used in various applications, including food coloring. However, its use in food products has been banned in several countries due to health concerns. If you're asking whether rose milk typically contains Rhodamine-B, it's important to note that it shouldn't be intentionally added to food products, including rose milk. In many places, its use in food is strictly regulated or prohibited altogether. It's always a good idea to check the ingredients and ensure the safety of any food or drink you consume.

It may be a festive symbol of romance, but mistletoe has a darker side! It contains compounds like viscotoxins (small proteins similar to cobra venom), phoratoxins, and alkaloids, which can affect the gastrointestinal tract.
High doses have been reported as harmful to human health - so it’s best to leave this plant for decoration, not consumption 💋🚫
Interestingly, mistletoe extracts have therapeutic uses too, helping to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients.
What’s your favourite festive decoration? Let us know! And to keep track of all the previous advent days, please check out our dedicated webpage: https://lnkd.in/eBdXVFND#Mistletoe#ToxicologyTrivia#ChemicalSafety#FestiveFacts
The research suggests that the #ketogenic diet holds potential neuroprotective benefits for #glaucoma management. Specifically, it has been shown to improve 𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, reduce 𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, and 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 in animal models. However, challenges related to diet composition and individual response need further study. More real-world data is required to confirm its mechanisms, optimize its use before it can be widely recommended for glaucoma. Additionally, plant-based low-carb diets may support better glucose control, potentially impacting glaucoma progression. Ongoing research is essential to fully explore KD's therapeutic role.

🗣️ Watch Davide Risso, MSc, PhD from Tate & Lyle talk about our latest joint publication around the impact of low-/no-calorie #sweeteners on the #gut#microbiome, for the general population and type II diabetes individuals 🗣️
🔍 Study highlights 🔍
- We looked at a comprehensive list of sweeteners, including tagatose, sorbitol, maltitol, stevia, acesulfame K, and sucralose.
- Both healthy and type-II diabetes individuals were considered
- We considered the dosing and digestion of each sweetener individually
- The study of the gut microbiome relied on the ex vivo SIFR technology, shown to be predictive for clinical outcomes
- Its high throughput was used to simulate about 500 experimental conditions
🌟 Conclusion: the low-/no-calorie sweeteners either fostered positive metabolic and compositional changes in the gut or exhibited no effect, underlining the importance of considering the compounds individually 🌟
