Yesterday was International Women in Cyber Day! Cybersecurity is still a male-dominated field, with ISC2 estimating in April 2024 that the percentage of women in the industry is roughly only 20-25%. Likewise, the report indicated that pay disparities continue to exist, particularly for women of colour working in the field. It's important that we continue to address the gaps in representation and equity within cybersecurity, especially for women of color. I've always believed that the strength of our industry lies in its diversity of thought, experience, and background. We must ensure that women in cyber not only have a seat at the table but are also being compensated fairly and given the opportunities to thrive. Let’s keep championing women in cybersecurity and pushing for the changes we need to see! #InternationalWomenInCyberDay #WomenInCyber #Equality #DiversityInTech

Meet Agnes D. Soliman, our featured #HumansOfCybersecurityPH this week. Reflecting on the evolving landscape, she shares insights on the shift towards inclusivity and opportunity for women in cybersecurity. ••• How open is the cybersecurity industry to women now compared to before? AS: Cybersecurity used to be a man's world and women did not choose to work in the field but nowadays women choose to work in all fields and can succeed. And how do we encourage more women to consider cybersecurity as their career? AS: Introduce cybersecurity via forums or seminars/trainings in all women colleges and university. Let them know that there is an equal opportunity for all. #PinedaCyberySecurity #CyberSecurityMakesSenseHere #CyberSecurity #CyberSecurityPH #HumansOfCybersecurity #CyberSheroes #BreakingBarriers #WomenInCyberSecurity #DiversityInTech

🎫 REGISTER FREE below to our upcoming Public Sector Cyber Security Conference & hear Isabel Scavetta speak about Supporting Women in Cyber. 🔎 Women, who make up nearly half of the global population, are vastly underrepresented in cybersecurity, making up only 24% in 2023. Addressing this imbalance is not only a matter of fairness but also a strategic necessity to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in this critical field. https://lnkd.in/eCGbbnfN
