Take your time when applying for a position. It's so easy to skim through questions, click yes/no, check a box, and move on through the pages. Especially when you're applying to a high volume of positions. If you receive an immediate rejection email, you likely answered a "knock-out question" incorrectly. A knock-out question is designed to quickly determine whether an individual meets the minimum requirements for the position. These questions typically have "yes" or "no" response options to verify specific criteria. If you're rushing through applications, mistakes can easily be made, resulting in your application never getting the chance to be reviewed. 🤘

Galion Crest TOP 10 GOLDEN POINTS FOR CANDIDATES !!! 1. A PDF version of your CV remains the best. 2. Apply for 2-3 jobs a day during job hunt. Quality over quantity. 3. Avoid attaching your CV from your goggle drive. Some employers face challenge opening it. 4. Always add an email subject, the role you are applying for is suitable as subject of the mail. 5. Address the receiver of the mail properly. Dear Hiring manager is good. 6. The body of the mail should be brief. Highlighting where you saw the vacancy and why you are interested. 7. Ensure your CV attachments are correct. Some of you mistakenly attach completely different document (Example. your DNA result instead of your CV). 😄 8. Unless requested, avoid attaching all your credentials as an attachment. Your CV and cover letter are enough. 9. Avoid forwarding applications, it takes nothing to send a fresh job application. 10. Always name your CV correctly. If your name is Tilly Galaxy, your CV document should be named Tilly Galaxy. Makes it easy to find by employers. Do you find this helpful?? You can make your resume convincing if you: 1. Use 2-3 bullet points per job and 1-2 lines per bullet point 2. Replace jargon with commonly understood terms 3. Use numbers that link your actions to business value. The number of bugs fixed is not a business value, but stability is. 4. Don't write "I" and don't write about yourself in the third person 5. Use active voice. Instead of saying "was responsible for managing a team", say "managed a team". 6. Back up your statements with facts. When you say "complex project", either explain how it was complex (architecture, workload, compliance, ...), or don't say at all. Congrats. Your resume now sounds more convincing! Is there something I forgot? Put it in the comments #tech #career #softwareengineering

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 The worst word you could write under any job post. Instead do these: 𝟏. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 Show your interest by going into detail. E.g. "This opportunity looks great. I feel like I might be the right candidate for this. Please do check my profile." 𝟐. 𝐃𝐌 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 E.g. "Hi (@name), just saw the opportunity you are hiring for. I have done similar projects in the past [mention list of things you have done here]. I would love to connect with you. Please do share your email so I can share my CV with you" 𝟑. 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 The most underrated tool in this world is follow-up. Make sure that the person hiring gets to hear from you again. This just shows how genuinely interested you are.

I am excited to share the important parts of a job description that can help you craft a compelling job listing. When creating a job description, remember to include the following key elements: - Job Title - Company Bio/Mission - Role Summary - Role Responsibilities - Role Requirements (Must-Have Skills) - Time/Location - Next Steps (How to Apply) By incorporating these essential components, you can attract qualified candidates and effectively communicate the expectations and opportunities associated with the position. #JobDescription #HiringTips

How much of your prior experience is needed to get your next job? Answer: Not all of it. Only what’s relevant. With résumés, less is more. Turn yours into a **hiring proposal** that addresses an employer’s most pressing needs. Tailoring your résumé includes leaving out anything that’s not relevant. That is all; keeping it relevant. 😊 #CareerCoaching

As a Sr. Technical Manager at Peterson Technology Partners I’ve learned a lot about what it takes for IT job candidates to be successful, including how to craft a winning resume! Before sending in your next job application, go through your resume and check for these red flags. 👇 🚩 Frequent job changes: A pattern of short-term roles (e.g., job changes every few months) may suggest challenges with commitment, stability, or fit. 🚩 Inconsistent employment dates: Conflicting dates (e.g., overlapping roles or unexplained gaps) can raise questions about integrity or attention to detail. 🚩 Job titles misaligned with responsibilities: Titles that don’t match past role responsibilities may suggest inflated titles or misrepresented experience. 🚩 Discrepancies across materials: Mismatched information between a resume and LinkedIn or other materials can signal issues with honesty and detail. 🚩 Overqualification or underqualification: Significant misalignment with role requirements may raise concerns about commitment, motivation, or fit. The future of your career is worth the extra time you put into your application. Stay mindful of what turns off job prospects and adjust accordingly to put your best foot forward! What resume red flags would you add to the list? And which do you have the hardest time addressing? Please share! ✍️
