“Where were you all this while? I want this for my school too, Bharath.” When we began this semester in December, The Grey Sunshine Project wanted to expand to a few more schools—one of them being Church Park International Public School under the leadership of Raji (Rajeshwari G) and her dedicated team. I had the luck of meeting her during a workshop for parents at Vidyaniketan Public School, Medahalli. She happened to be there for an HM meeting and approached me after witnessing the workshop, saying, “Where were you all this while? I want this for my school too, Bharath.” A few days later, we had a detailed call to discuss her school’s needs and expectations. Since I was working a night shift, I had to call her a bit late, and I hesitated about the timing. But when I asked if she wanted to postpone the conversation, she replied, “This is more important than my sleep, sir. Please tell me where do we start?” That’s when the gravity of the situation hit me. Raji (Rajeshwari G) shared how some students are battling serious challenges—substance use like tobacco (smokeless), lack of focus, low self-esteem, academic struggles and no sense of purpose or self awareness. She spoke with so much care, sadness, and determination to help them. She wanted to explore whether counseling, paired with a holistic approach involving parents and teachers, could begin to create change in these young lives. It’s rare to meet leaders who are not just aware of these realities but are ready to take action and experiment with new solutions to make a difference and I am glad that I had the opportunity to do a workshop on a day where she was also there! Today, I’m proud to share that Church Park International Public School has become a part of The Grey Sunshine Project ’s pilot. Our fellows, Sandra Jain, Yuvraj Singh and Laxmi Rana —final-year MSc. trainees from St Joseph's University —are now placed at the school under guided supervision and have begun their work already! This collaboration is not just about addressing the challenges but about creating a sustainable support system—one where parents, teachers, and students work together to foster self-awareness, resilience, and growth. We can’t wait to witness the transformative impact this pilot will have—not just on the children but on the communities they are part of. As I say, it takes a village to raise a child, and today, our village just got bigger!! Here’s to initiating change, one school at a time. #schooleadership #teachforindia #thegreysunshineproject #mentalhealthinschools #schoolmentalhealth #childcounselling #fellowship #counsellinginternship #bangaloreschools #internshipopportunities
“Mental well-being is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.” At our school, we firmly believe that nurturing mental health is just as important as academic growth. Over time, we noticed that some of our students were struggling with their behavior, which often reflected deeper, unspoken challenges. To address this, we launched Project “I and Me” in collaboration with The Grey Sunshine Project Under the guidance of Bharath Vasan, who has been leading this initiative with dedication, the team ensures that our students receive the care and attention they need. Counsellors Miss Lakshmi and Miss Sandra visited our school to engage with the students who are troubled, offering them a safe space to talk, heal, and grow. We are deeply grateful to Gray Sunshine NGO and their incredible team for creating this space of trust and guidance. Together, we’re taking small but impactful steps toward helping our students build resilience and emotional strength. Mental well-being matters—and it starts with being heard. If you have ideas, stories, or suggestions on fostering mental health in schools, I’d love to hear them. #MentalWellbeing #EducationForAll #StudentWellbeing #Collaboration #TeachForIndia #SchoolCommunity #CPIPS #ChurchParkInternational #MentalHealth #SafeSpace

🎓 As we gear up to visit universities during Mental Health Awareness Week, it's crucial to remind ourselves of the unseen struggles that our student friends might be facing, especially during exam season. Exams can really pile on the pressure. Deadlines, expectations... It can all feel like too much at times. 😬 You know that friend who always seems upbeat and on top of things? Well, underneath, they might be dealing with exam stress. Not all stress is visible—it's the late-night cramming sessions, self-doubt, and the anxiety that creeps in as deadlines loom closer... 🤗 Let's also remember to check in on those friends who have a heavy course load, are struggling in their classes, or have a disability. They might be facing even more challenges during this time. So, make a little extra effort today and reach out to someone, even if it's just a quick message! 🫶 Your kindness could really brighten their day and make a big difference in how they're feeling. #ExamStress #StudentMentalHealth #UniLife

📊 Did you know? In 2021, the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Mental Health revealed that nearly half of parents reported a new or worsening mental health condition in their teen since the start of the pandemic. 😟 This statistic is a powerful reminder of the challenges many teens are facing today. 🧠 But there is hope! By giving young athletes tools to strengthen their mental resilience, we can help them not only perform better on the pitch but also develop crucial life skills that go far beyond sports. ⚽ At Soccer Resilience, we're here to support teens and their families with resources to build mental health and well-being. Together, we can empower the next generation to thrive. 👉 Follow us and explore our courses to help your teen build a brighter future! #SoccerResilience #MentalHealthMatters #YouthWellness #TeenMentalHealth #LifeSkillsThroughSports #BreakingTheStigma #MentalResilience #ParentSupport #PandemicRecovery Kellie Bocanegra Diego Bocanegra Alex Diaz

Sometimes, we stray from The Worry Wizard Way ➡🌟💙. When we launched our Curiosity Wheel in Mental Health Awareness Week, we asked our schools to download a brand-new resource *that week* in order to receive a free Curiosity Wheel in the post. (As though when that week ended, we would no longer celebrate school accessing our resources by sending them a Curiosity Wheel. We felt we were encouraging engagement, sparking a rush 🏃💨) … When we saw a new download just outside of the dates we’d set, we chuckled. And remembered The Worry Wizard Way…➡🌟💙 Much laughter and a trip to the post box later 📮😄. (Of course we sent a Curiosity Wheel. We’re still sending Curiosity Wheels!) If we see a chance to help Wellbeing shine, we take it. When our Community choose to connect with us, we’re there for them. Because that’s our way. The Worry Wizard Way ➡🌟💙 … our way of showing up for the children who most need our help, at the point they most need it. If you would like to know how your school can become a Worry Wizard school, please get in touch 🏫💙, we would love to chat 💬. #fromWorriestoWellbeing #theworrywizardway #childrenswellbeing #childrensmentalhealth #childmentalhealth #whywedowhatwedo #bettertogether #workingtogether #howwework #emotionalliteracy #wellbeing #theworrywizardway #schools #mentallyhealthyschools #wholeschoolapproach #childrenswellbeing #MentalHealthEmergency #YoungPeopleMatter #MentalHealthMatters #togetherstronger

🧠 October is Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠 We often face a lot of pressure—juggling academics, jobs, and social life can be overwhelming. Studies show that nearly 50% of college students report experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression during their academic journey. Yet, many still struggle to seek the support they need due to stigma or a lack of awareness about available resources. This October, let’s prioritize our mental health and support one another. Here are a few ways we can make a difference: 1️⃣ Normalize the Conversation: It’s okay not to be okay. Talking openly about mental health helps reduce stigma and makes it easier for others to seek help. 🌱 2️⃣ Use Campus Resources: Many colleges offer counseling services, peer support groups, and workshops for stress management. Take advantage of these resources—prioritizing your well-being is just as important as your GPA. 📚 3️⃣ Support One Another: A small act of kindness, like checking in with a friend or organizing a study break, can go a long way. We’re all in this together, and building a supportive community can make a big impact. 🤝 Let’s use this month to break down barriers and create a campus culture where mental health is treated as a priority, not a stigma. Remember, you’re never alone. How are you taking care of your mental health this semester? #MentalHealthAwareness #CollegeLife #StudentWellbeing #BreakTheStigma #CampusSupport #YouAreNotAlone #UTD #WellnessJourney

Youth mental health is more at risk than ever—and we’re running to change that. The recent report on youth mental health confirms what we’ve been seeing for years: our young people are in crisis, and it’s time to act. At Team Unbreakable, we’ve never been more relevant. Last year, we empowered over 2,000 students across 12 Ontario school boards, using running to improve both physical and mental health. Our approach is simple but powerful—build resilience, promote well-being, and give young people the tools they need to overcome anxiety, depression, and isolation. Now, more than ever, our work is making a real difference. As a Team Unbreakable trainer, you have the opportunity to lead this change and provide children with the mental and physical strength they need to thrive. Become a trainer, change lives. I have been fortunate to work on some amazing projects throughout my career but nothing tops this one. What started as an idea between Kian Heiat and me in a hotel lobby in the heart of New York City has now become a reality. Since the rise of NIL, there has been a significant gap in mental health resources for student-athletes. In partnership with Movember, we are beyond excited to announce the launch of MINDMOVES, a mental health education program that will now be in the hands of thousands of athletes nationwide. This program will give athletes access to countless tools to help recognize signs of mental health distress, empowering them to not only help themselves but also support teammates, friends, family, and those around them. A huge shoutout to the Movember and Opendorse teams for their hard work and dedication in bringing this project to life! See the program launch below! https://lnkd.in/dNTTR6pK #mentalhealth #NIL #mindmoves
