Recently Peter Shandley and I spoke about the challenge, residents in aged care facilities often face in accessing timely follow-up appointments with their GPs. Traditional in-person visits can be disruptive, require transportation, and strain already stretched resources. Peter loves a challenge, and agreed the Health Pod addresses a number of barriers that telehealth has faced in gaining adoption. CareZen are currently discussing placing Health Pods in Aged Care Facilities community centres, for patients to book a follow up virtual consult with their GP. Residents and GP's like the continuity of care, and the sense of connection they can maintain. Virtual appointments minimize disruption to residents' routines, improving comfort and reducing anxiety. While eliminates travel barriers, ensuring timely care even for residents. Facilities can schedule more appointments with less logistical burden, maximizing staff time. Australian Bureau of Statistics: 96.1% of people aged 85+ see a GP annually. Virtual Consultations in a safe, private and soundproof Health Pod can bridge the gap for follow-up care. #agedcare #telehealth #healthcareinnovation #followupcare #Medtech #Health #Innovation #residentexperience #continuityofcare #primarycare Rural Doctors Association of Australia The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Aged & Community Services Australia CEDA Aged Care research hub Reilly and Associates - Aged Care projects Megan Dowdell Gregg Amies Bryn McMurray Jason Boyd Modvale

"[Home health] can be especially effective for patients in those underserved or rural areas where we see the largest issues with access to care due to health provider shortages. Currently, 100mm people live in primary care physician shortage areas and 160MM live in mental health provider shortage areas." Our CEO Joseph Perekupka talked about the advantages and challenges of healthcare at home with Healthcare IT Today. #healthcare #homehealth #digitaltherapeutics Read more: https://lnkd.in/g7t2Qfuh

It’s important to understand long terms implications of how data can be a winner and what you loose when you miss out on it!
There has been no good news about dental and oral health care for years in Australia. Workforce shortages, maldistribution of the workforce, unmet need, long waiting lists for public care, and older persons in pain and not being able to eat. Yes, people are hurting and this includes their mouths. Medicare covers the whole body except our mouths. We need oral health to be part of primary care and an essential part of universal health care in Australia.
Timely data is key for planning the future of oral health workforce

Grayson Miller writes about remote operations for healthcare and the benefits and costs of remote operations. The pandemic forced every industry to go remote, but there may be some benefits to keeping aspects of healthcare that way, especially concerning costs. It makes healthcare more accessible for patients who either are unable or unwilling to go in person to receive care. The main challenge is the limit on different kinds of treatment with home health. What can we do? As healthcare leaders, we must find the balance but always keep patients' needs at the forefront of our decisions. #Healthcare #HomeHealth

It’s been four years since the pandemic sparked the healthcare industry’s commitment to remote healthcare at home. Health2047 CEO Larry Cohen, Ph.D recently spoke with Healthcare IT Today about the pros and cons of healthcare at home services. He notes that virtual care should complement routine physical exams, not replace them. We need a balanced approach to avoid the “either-or” fallacy so that traditional care providers and digital health companies can collaborate to create care models that lean on their respective strengths without compromising clinical quality. Unlike traditional visits that are limited to specific times, remote care can offer individuals support over a broad span of 18 hours a day, every day, making it a real game-changer for those with cognitive and emotional needs. With virtual care, clients can get assistance whenever they need it—whether it’s early in the morning, late at night, or anytime in between. Whether it’s needing help managing medications, a quick check-in, or just some reassurance - A support worker is just a text or call away. This extended availability means our clients are never left waiting or feeling unsupported. It’s not just about the hours, either. Remote care allows for more frequent interactions, which means more consistent and responsive support. Our clients can address issues as they arise, get timely advice, and stay on top of their health without the constraints of a tight schedule. Invisible-Care’s attendant care services offer a level of flexibility and accessibility that traditional home care simply can’t match. Our hybrid model of care comprising of remote and in-person services offers broader and more adaptable support to clients right when they need it, making their care experience smoother and more responsive to their needs. #rehabilitation #rehab #braininjury #concussion #chronicpain #spinalcordinjury #mva #catastrophicinjury #accidentinsurance #claimsmanagement #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #casemanagement #personalinjury #personalinjurylawyer #homecare #longtermcare #communitycare #communityengagement #seniorcare #healthtech #attendantcare #personalsupport #psw #behavioralhealth #ondemandservices #seniorcare #claims #catastrophicinjury #sabs #invisiblecare #assistivetechnology #assistedliving #assistivetech #cognitivehealth #remotemonitoring #telehealth #telemedicine #digitalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealth #healthtech #healthtechinnovation #pediatrichealth #oap #habilitation #techinhealthcare #artificialintelligence #healthcareai

The Great British Paradox. The NHS long-term workforce plan projects a shortfall of 15,000 GPs by 2034. It's odd because there are lots of GPs who want to work and are having difficulty securing work... and patients want to see GPs and can find it hard to get an appointment. Why do you think GPs are struggling to find work? What do you think will happen next within primary care? #health #doctor #NHS #GeneralPractice
