Works great alone; works even better together: Most electric cars use a single drive unit, placed on either the front or the rear axle. And while “just” a main drive is sufficient for many vehicles, certain scenarios – like high-performance models, off-road and AWD cars – require additional features such as driving dynamics, better traction or better efficiency. OEM therefore have a few things to consider during development. One thing they can rely on, however, is the ZF eDrive System. Thanks to its modular platform approach, it can be designed either as a main drive, as a secondary drive, or in tandem – entirely according to the specifications and requirements of our customers.
