[M.People Vol.2] Meet Serena Corti, Sales & Marketing Manager for Mobis Italy. She is the team leader for the Sales & Marketing Team where she supports the growth of #Hyundai and #Kia distributors and dealers in Italy. Serena has been working in Mobis for more than 11 years now. An exciting journey she started in 2013 as a Marketing Specialist, then she had the opportunity to start a new role as Key Account Manager. After some time she got promoted to coordinator of the KAM group to finally lead the Sales and Marketing team in Italy. In her current role she leads the sales planning and manages the assigned marketing budget by creating sales campaigns and promotions. Another key task of her role is managing the business relations with Hyundai Motors Italy and Kia Motors Italy. A challenging task that includes customer visit, price management and customer performance monitoring. What are the main challenges of your team? The main challenge is multi-tasking. We work in a very fast-paced environment and we have to deal multiple daily tasks and deadlines. It also makes the daily work fun since no day is the same: you could be writing a report, prepping for a meeting, and giving feedback all at once! It is important to know what the priorities are and to be well organized in order to do not miss a thing and maintain a high-quality job execution. What project has been specially interesting during your 11 years at Mobis? One of the most interesting projects has been the implementation Automated Inventory Reordering System for Kia Dealers. We faced a lot of challenges with data flow in the beginning but after 10 years we can see all the effort we put in is paying off and we can be supporting our business partners in their growth. The great thing is we keep improving the project every year to achieve excellence. How do you envision “Future Mobility”? I visualize an ecosystem that will be more smart and environmentally friendly, in which AI will drive passenger cars and shared mobility solutions. I am really happy to be contributing to build Future Mobility in Mobis. What are your personal goals while working at Mobis? I believe what makes the daily job interesting is the possibility to feel part of a greater project, so my personal goal is to keep this commitment and spread it to the other members of the organization. The Dealer's Son: Automotive Passion Passed Down Through Generations. Growing up, dealerships were like a second home to me. With parents deeply rooted in the automotive world, my father's career spanned from mainstream automotive brands to luxury icons such as Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini. My mother, Jackie Lawton whom I proudly work alongside today at izmocars and who previously shaped customer experiences in dealerships and at Mercedes-Benz AG Europe as Head of Retail CRM, the automotive industry is truly in my blood. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve wandering HR Owen PLC showroom floors, sipping (often awful!) machine-made soup with my sister Jodie Lawton, and being captivated by legendary cars like the Lamborghini Miura. These experiences ignited a lifelong passion in me. Today, decades later, I still feel that same excitement when visiting dealerships, even when 7,000 miles from home here in Buenos Aires. I love learning how each business and local culture strives for excellence and I truly enjoy supporting them by adapting our products to meet their unique needs. Over the past 13 years, I've dedicated myself to crafting solutions that are far more than just another dealer website or CMS; they are labours of love, built with passion, experience and care. Case study: How a Luxury Car Brand improved their sales performance with our Incentive Program One of our clients in the Luxury Car space has always strived to outperform the world’s best luxury car brands, but faces stiff competition from other brands in this space in Australia. To help them master this challenge, we worked closely with them to craft and deliver the ‘Leaders Dealer Channel Incentive Program’. As a result of this program, our client achieved a 5% YoY increase in New Vehicles Sales in 2021. Here's how we did it: 1. Tailored Targets & KPIs: Every Sales Manager, Service Advisor, Technician, and other staff had specific KPIs, aligning their goals with the company’s core objectives. This meant that success was not only achievable but driven by both individual and team efforts. 2. Recognition & Rewards: Celebrating milestones and excellence, the program included quarterly competitions, annual study tours, and 'Leaders Reward Dollars’ – all aimed at recognizing top performance. 3. Omotenashi in Action: We demonstrated Omotenashi, the Japanese spirit of hospitality, to the Dealer Network, and ensured that they demonstrated the same spirit of welcome and respect to their customers. This allowed our network to deliver exceptional customer experiences to their clients throughout Australia. The Results: Despite the global challenges of 2021, our client saw a 5% increase in new vehicle sales, outperforming competitors like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi. This outstanding achievement was mirrored in the high engagement levels across the dealerships, with significant increases in website logins and satisfaction rates among staff. INTENTION: A Thing Intended; An Aim Or Plan. By now most of you know at least part of my story: Most know when I came into the car business December 2018 I said I would be a General Manager in 5 years. Most people laughed at that goal. Most know the 28 months I sold cars, I sold over 600 units and led my dealership in sales every month in a Passport INFINITI store doing 80-120 units per month. Most know I was promoted to Sales Manager there and spent the next 6 months becoming proficient at variable operations. Most know I spent the next 2 years after that at Len Stoler Lexus as a Sales Manager refining The Luxury Dealership Experience. Most know I went to Heritage MileOne CDJR as a General Sales Manager to refine my skillset in variable and fixed operations with an iconic domestic “Every Man’s Brand” Most know I went to Heritage MileOne Toyota to rebuild the business after the GM, GSM, multiple sales managers, and half the sales staff walked out. Most know I was involved in multiple rebuilds there and assisted in building a team that consistently put 1M of variable gross on the books monthly and a high of 304 units. Why do most that follow me know these things? Because I strongly believe in INTENTION. I believe if you speak your goals out loud, and have as well as maintain the right INTENTION, the Universe will find a way to hold you accountable to what you said you wanted to accomplish. With that, at 5 years and 6 months in the business, I am elated to announce I have embarked on my first General Manager opportunity as I take the lead at Antwerpen CDJR in Catonsville Maryland. It’s not luck. It wasn’t given. It hasn’t been easy. It didn’t happen overnight. INTENTION made this a reality. Stay focused and keep the main thing THE MAIN THING!
