🎉 We’ve got another career milestone to celebrate! Congratulations Amy Nelson for 25 years of service to the hydrogen and fuel cell sector! What Amy loves about her career (besides its length - and she said that, not us!) has been the tremendous opportunities that she was given to learn and innovate. "So many of my managers, mentors, and colleagues gave me freedom or the inspiration to ask questions and to experiment, even if it meant breaking things. Whether the experiments were failures or successes, I learned so much!" Affectionately known as the Freeze Start Queen, Amy makes no secret of the fact it’s her one true love when it comes to fuel cell development. When Amy worked at Ballard, she lobbied hard for a walk-in freezer to enable better tests. Be careful what you wish for! 🥶 She subsequently spent many hours carrying out tests inside a freezer, even through two pregnancies. "Freeze start is complex and unpredictable, which is what makes it such an interesting and challenging aspect of fuel cell technology development." We are so grateful for Amy, not only for her technical smarts, but also for the ways she connects with others, and for her sense of adventure and fun! She’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves in the lab and has built a network that runs deep and wide, in and outside of the #H2FC industry. Her career is a source of inspiration, reminding us of the importance of embracing challenges, learning from failures, and building meaningful connections. Way to go, Amy! 🫶 #fuelcell #hydrogen #stackengineering #systemsengineering #engineeringingenuity #accelerateH2 #innovation #careerjourney #inspiration #AVL #reimaginingmotion
Haven't seen our F-CELL jewel for some time. Nice you joined our event back then.
Congratulations Amy!
Congrats Amy, thats a great achievement. Its a pleasure to work with you.
Well done Amy! I am privileged to have shared part of that journey with you. Keep it up!
The picture should be from 2010 from their filming of the world eco tour series. They stopped by at Cal State LA as well. I should have taken a picture like that....
Who rocks? - Amy! Such a solid work the past years. Hard to find nowadays.
Wow! How the time is passing. So we are about one year appart. Great to see you‘re still with passion to change the world.
Happy 25 years, Amy Nelson!!! Happy that we overlapped and even were office neighbors some of these years at AFCC!!! You rock!!!
