🎙️ ”There’s several properties of aluminum that make it this really compelling fuel. One is the really amazing energy density it has. Coming from the battery world, we’re used to talking in watt hours per kilogram. For aluminum, we’re talking kilowatt hours per kilogram. So we’re talking 8.6 kWh per kilogram in terms of the energy that’s in aluminum, and it’s even better on a volume basis - 23 kWh per liter in terms of the thermal energy that’s available. Very excited to be in #Nashville for the Innovatrix International's 2nd Battery Gigafactory Summit USA. What I am even more excited about is that I'll be joining Debra Porter Bennethum from Energy Fuels Inc for a fireside chat discussing an incredibly hot topic: The Role of Diplomacy in Shaping Global Critical Metals Policies. Access to a secure and stable source of raw materials that fuel the energy transition is critical to success - no nickel or lithium, for example, and no battery (in the extreme, although in reality it manifests in high costs). It is not surprising that most nations now consider these, and other, critical metals of strategic importance. With the world at an incredibly tense time, a change in the US administration, this conversation is pertinent and timely. That's Day 1. In many ways a continuation of this conversation, with a focus on supply chain specifically, takes place on Day 2. I am pleased to be joining a panel of experts moderated by Micah M. Siegal of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited and consisting of Andreas Bareid, MBA of NAATBatt International, Brent Hinson of PowerCo, and Raj S. DasGupta of Electrovaya. The panel will tackle strategies on building more resilient supply chains, government policies and incentives, innovation and sustainable recycling ecosystem, amongst a few other important questions. I am very honored to participate on both days and showcase CRU thinking. I have to give a big thanks to the CRU ecosystem of analysts across the whole value chain, from ore to EV door, that allows for industry thought leadership to manifest.
