At Haskè Group, we view hackathons as dynamic platforms that bring together diverse stakeholders – from leaders of initiatives, entrepreneurs and tech developers to subject matter experts – to collaboratively design solutions that address real, on-the-ground challenges. However, our approach extends beyond the event itself. The most promising ideas generated in these hackathons benefit from structured post-event support. For projects requiring further refinement, R&D vouchers can be allocated to deepen research and improve concept maturity. Meanwhile, for market-ready projects, our venture-building program provides a pathway to test, validate, and scale solutions, ensuring both sustainability and measurable impact. This support framework includes incubation, market validation, business model refinement, and resource mobilization, all crucial steps to help ideas transition from prototype to transformative solutions. Through Haskè Conseil and Haskè Ventures, we are committed to guiding these initiatives at each stage, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and strengthening local talent. Hackathons thus become more than just competitions; they are catalysts for high-impact initiatives and ventures that drive social and economic progress in West Africa. #Hackathons #InnovationAfrica #HaskèVentures #LocalEntrepreneurship #FrancophoneAfrica #SocialImpact

(⚠Historic Content Below) Value Is Created When We Collaborate! The past two weeks have probably been the fastest two weeks ever in my lifetime! I rolled up my marketing sleeves and went to MuAccra (Hosted by the mu and Aya (Techstars '23)) . The first ever pop-up style Web3 ecosystem gathering in Africa. I must admit I didn't know what to expect when I applied to attend. The theme from the first day was "togetherness in purpose". Founder of Aya, Eric Annan, emphasized the need for communities/developers to collaborate and not work in silos. This was well demonstrated by the 10+ communities that gathered in Abokobi, Accra for two weeks, leaving the comfort of their homes, favorite meals and loved ones to co-live with other enthusiasts from all over Africa! Here are my takeaways 🔽 1. There's power in dialogue! It's amazing how a conversation over a cup of coffee between Mr Eric Annan and the Mu team on 9th November, 2023 in Istanbul can lead to a pop-up event with a $27K hackathon prize pool! 2. Learn from those who are smarter than you! I had conversations with other Marketing/DevRel/Community Management/ Product specialists and I must say I left MuAccra, feeling confident in my skills by engaging with these professionals. 3. Solving real problems don't only give you a sense of fulfilment but can produce revenue. Instead of starting a project because of monetary gain, you may want to understand the local context of the your solution because that's what is going to get people using it and the rewards will follow soon after. "Customer-first" solutions. 4. Inasmuch as we specialize our expertise, don't get tired of building a diverse skillset! You may not know which one may come in handy. You might just end up as a designer in a hackathon😂 #MuAccra was just the spark, watch the fire blaze through the tech ecosystem in Africa! Up next... #MuNairobi? Massive gratitude goes to the Aya and Mu team for making this happen. Kudos to everyone Pishikeni Tukura, Emmanuel Kusi, Faith Samuel, Michael Lawal, Paul Emmanuel, Andrew Miracle, Jovells Appiah, Jeremy Acquaah, Lance Davis, Mr Saade, Precious Elisha, Baah Kusi, Vicentia Asilevi, Likem Dzokoto, Justice Agbeko Akli (Thanks for taking these memories)

🌟 Fantastic Announcement! 🗞 💡 Last week we had the joy of highlighting Sonja Betschart as a Social Entrepreneur, and this week we get to highlight a compelling report that her organisation WeRobotics just published in partnership with Camber Collective and Disrupt Development! Raising questions around power in the sector of international development, The Power Footprint Report is fascinating from the outset. It posits the idea of organisations, similar to sharing their carbon footprints, share their 'Power Footprint'. The Power of Local recognises the invaluable expertise and agency within communities, yet power dynamics within international organisations often overshadow local voices. This initiative aims to shift this paradigm by quantifying and redistributing power, empowering local stakeholders, fostering genuine collaboration, and creating solutions that are more responsive. 🌱 Engaging with "over a hundred individuals from international organisations, foundations, development agencies, and local organisations" like us here at Ashoka, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the World Vision Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the team has been able to build up the Power Footprint initiative to where it is today. 🚀 Congrats to the team at WeRobotics, Camber Collective, and Disrupt Development that are behind this initiative and report! 🌟 To check it out, head to: https://lnkd.in/dRcmexz3 This report also reminds us of the importance of True Participation! If you want to learn more about True Participation and the idea of 'Everyone A Changemaker' (yes, even you 🤩), check out the Ashoka Changemaker Summit at: https://lnkd.in/ghs_-Ere #PowerFootprint #DevelopmentTransformed #DEI #ShiftThePower

How to solve complex challenges together That is the title of our #KiteLab Innovation Methodology that we presented today at Catalyst 2030 General Assembly. For the past year, at SustainableStartup&Co, we have been facilitating online and in-person #openinnovationlabs with Spanish public institutions such as Móstoles (along with MOSTOLES DESARROLLO), Diputación Provincial De Burgos, Diputacion Provincial de Ourense, Ayuntamiento De Rafelbunyol, Ayuntamiento de Almería Ciudad, or NetZeroCitiesEU's URBANEW's consortium. We have refined a methodology that has been tested over and over again, that has led to specific results such as the creation of implementation working groups, inter-institutional follow-up working sessions, and even a whole #entrepreneurshipaccelerator that is being implemented right now. We have been inspired by countless other methodologies and frameworks, and in that spirit, we have decided to condense our methodology in an #opensource #Toolkit that we make available to the wider community today under a #CreativeCommons Licence. Our mission is to transform the way #collaboration happens in every organisation and every ecosystem. We will be releasing further tools to help you in the journey of making the world a thriving and more sustainable place. We would love to know what you think about this toolkit, and how you are enabling transformative collaborations in your territories. Please post your impressions in the comments!

I attended Innovate Calgary: Social Innovation Hub's Luncheon this afternoon & had the pleasure to hear Samuel Obadero, Lulu Mashonganyika, and Temi Okesanya share their experiences and challenges as successful founders and, creators in very different spaces! here's what I took away from this event, aside from the delicious jerk 🍗, inspiring stories & connections: ✅ do things that make you uncomfortable (as an introvert, networking is not an easy thing to do - but trust me, in the right spaces, networking can be fun, rewarding and challenging in a good way :)) 🍗 actively seek out rejection, and know 'why' you were rejected! Learn & do better tomorrow. But don't give up! 🍗 ask for help when you need it! we love to do-it-all 🦸🏽♀️ but it's okay to NOT know how to do it all, and it's okay to ask for help & guidance. 🍗 if you don't see people like you in certain spaces, you have the opportunity to pave the path for others to come :) ✅ this community is full of great resources, connections and mentors, you have to actively seek them out! #networking #bhm #socialinnovation
