For many, tonight is going to be a nervous, stressful sleep (if you are lucky enough to manage). Whilst academic results are important, they are far from everything.
14 years ago, I did not get the grades I needed to study medicine, missing out by one mark in Biology. Despite this I did get into my chosen university, studying Biomedical Science instead.
Many years of personal and academic challenges later, I received my Doctorate (just in Biomedical Science), multiple first author publications and now I am working at the same university, ready to receive applications for Clearing 2024.
For those who are awaiting their results, do not be afraid of having to pivot directions. Life never works out exactly as planned but, when you look back, it will appear like you did it all on purpose.
Best of luck for everyone involved, and for those of you who will be joining us in clearing, please know that St George's, University of London is ready for you!
