We at VSV are attending the Qingdao International Seafood Expo at the Hongdao International Convention and Expo Center, which opened today in China. "Our goal is to strengthen existing partnerships in Asia, meet with key clients attending the expo, and introduce our premium seafood products to interested buyers," shares Björn Matthíasson, COO of VSV Seafood Iceland, who is currently at the event. Interest in Icelandic seafood remains high, and China stands out as one of the fastest-growing markets, with consumption now reaching over 34 kg per capita. As the world’s second-largest importer of seafood, China is a critical market for Icelandic capelin and roe. However, uncertainties about the quota for the upcoming season pose challenges.
