🌟 Science-Policy interface in action! 🌟 #SASiSPi project -Sustainable Agri-Food Systems Intelligence – Science-Policy Interface- is dedicated to fostering collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and strategies for sustainable food systems. Last week in Malmö we invited policymakers, scientists, and stakeholders came together to develop interventions for the transition to sustainable agri-food systems. During the two-day event, we designed a Science Policy Lab (#SPoL), through a role play, in order to experiment how to repurpose policy interventions by applying the food systems approach. The objective was to analyze how to better enable the science-policy interface and the operationalization of the food systems approach. The role play process was not an easy process, as it required participants to "let go" of preconceived notions and embrace new perspectives, stepping out of their comfort zone. Despite these challenges, participants showed outstanding commitment, demonstrating their dedication to creating a sustainable future. Thanks to this experiment it was possible to collectively acknowledge that research organizations and policymakers are being called upon to provide solutions for the transformation of agri-food systems; but this necessitates an evolution in the role of research within the policymaking process, and innovative ways of dialogue ensuring that the contributions of various food system actors are more effectively integrated and considered in the process of designing policy interventions. Working now on the outputs of the #SPoL – keep an eye on our website to know more about it! #SASiSPi #SPoL #AgriFoodSystems #Transformation #Science #Policy #Interface CIRAD SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences iCRA Agrinatura Association Scientific director KONSTANTINOS KARANTININIS https://lnkd.in/dKq6ubUR
