Since June, I have been working on various projects at Alif & Co Chartered Accountants, London Branch, as a Trainee Accountant. I am fortunate to have a very friendly and supportive trainer who has been instrumental in helping me complete these tasks accurately. The learning process has been much easier thanks to his guidance, and I am deeply grateful for his invaluable support. During my internship, I have gained experience in BANK RECONCILIATION, CREATING ACCOUNTS in accounting software, INVOICING, PAYROLL, TAX, VAT submission, VAT claims, TRANSACTION checking, and many other tasks. (Please note: I have not yet completed my internship, so there is still much to learn in the days ahead). As I prepare to enter the competitive job market in the UK, I recognize the challenges ahead. Observing many students on LinkedIn, I see that success often follows numerous failures. There are rarely first-attempt or overnight successes; instead, repeated failures teach different methods to try again. As Iman Gadzhi wisely said, "First or overnight success will build ego, and slow success builds character." I believe that I am gathering the experience and qualities necessary to pursue my dream. Sooner or later, it will come to fruition, In Sha Allah. Please keep me in your prayers. <3

"MY ICAN JOURNEY" A Word which kept me going "ICAN" The word "ICAN" became my motto, reminding me that I CAN do it. I am thrilled to share that I passed my #ican exams in just one attempt within two and a half years. I discovered #ican in my first year of university, Due to financial constraints, I decided to write the exams after my graduation. However, a seminar I attended changed everything. The speaker shared how her #ican certificate and relevant skills landed her an internship at an accounting firm prior to graduation. I knew I had to follow in her footsteps. Determined to succeed, I found a way to raise funds for my exams. I wrote my ATS 1 in March 2022 and, encouraged by my easy pass, I paid for my ATS 2. As I progressed, the exams became increasingly challenging. I was intimidated by the high failure rates in Performance Management (Skills Level) and Advanced Audit and Assurance (Professional Level), but I refused to be held back by fear. Through hard work, dedication, and steadfast prayer, I pushed through the obstacles and achieved my goal. I passed all my papers without attending any tutorials, relying on #ican study packs and online materials. During my journey, I developed strong time management skills, balancing my reading schedule with work commitments. This is just the beginning of my journey... I'm now open to internship opportunities in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, and Investment Banking. I'm eager to apply my knowledge, gain industry insights, and tackle challenging projects. I look forward to learning from experts in my field.

My life during "MBA" vs my life during "CA" Study Pressure: Without a doubt pressure of studying was really high in CA with multiple hundred pages books to cover alongwith coaching and self study. In MBA people passed easily even studying a day before exam. Peer pressure: CA was a study at home course. I hardly met anybody outside of classes. But MBA was all about peer learning, FOMO and dealing with imposter syndrome Placement pressure: MBA was all about getting the best job on campus (atleast that's what everyone says) so it becomes quite competitive and one of the most important time of entire 2 years in the placement season. In CA although placement pressure was high but for most of us becoming a CA was a bigger achievement than anything else Social Life: Needless to say CA has no social life and MBA was full of that Internship: MBA had a 2 month internship while CA had a 3 year articleship which was much much more grueling Overall: I still find CA to be more mentally and physically draining than MBA. However in terms of learning CA goes in much more depth and practicality since MBA teaches a lot of subjects in a short amount of time. #mba #charteredaccountant #iim #iimbangalore #study #ca

Embarking on the journey to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. When I started this path, I had a keen interest in understanding the mechanics of business and finance, but I could hardly anticipate the profound impact this education would have on my professional and personal growth. From day one, the BCom program challenged me to think critically and analytically. The rigorous coursework honed my skills in financial analysis, auditing, and taxation, among other key areas. More importantly, it taught me the importance of precision, ethical considerations, and the broader economic impact of financial decisions. One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey was the internship opportunity at the NHIF. This experience not only allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting but also provided invaluable insights into the public sector’s financial operations. Working alongside seasoned professionals, I gained hands-on experience in financial reporting and internal controls, which solidified my passion for accounting. Now, as I continue my career, I am constantly reminded of the vital role accountants play in ensuring transparency and accountability. The skills and knowledge I acquired during my BCom program are indispensable in my daily tasks, whether it’s preparing financial statements, managing budgets, or analyzing financial data to support decision-making processes. Looking back, I realize that choosing to pursue a BCom in Accounting was not just about acquiring a degree. It was about building a foundation for a career that makes a meaningful difference. It was about joining a community of like-minded professionals who are committed to upholding the highest standards of the profession. For anyone considering a similar path, I can confidently say that the journey is worth it. The challenges you will face are opportunities in disguise, and the knowledge you gain will be a powerful tool in your professional arsenal. Whether you aim to work in the public sector or in private industry, the principles of accounting remain universally relevant and essential. As I continue to grow and learn in my career, I am excited about the future and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Here’s to embracing new challenges, seizing opportunities, and contributing to the world of finance and accounting with integrity and excellence. #Accounting #Finance #CareerJourney #BCom #ProfessionalGrowth #AccountingLife

Do your candidates for trainee accounting/bookkeeping positions or accounting apprenticeships have the right attitude and aptitude to succeed in this profession? Find out, before you employ them, by getting them to complete our bookkeeping taster course, the Bookkeeping Aptitude Test (BAT). BAT is an online course which we recommend candidates take a day or so before you interview them. You can then discuss the results during the interview, but more importantly, identify (and recruit) the candidates likely to succeed. As an employer, you have full access to the course and can also review and mark the answers. BAT costs just £15+VAT per candidate, but it is provided FREE if you use Accountancy Learning Ltd to provide the apprenticeship training. As I progress through my USA CMA (Certified Management Accountant) Journey, I've come to understand that perseverance, hard work, and a ton of late-night study sessions are necessary for success. 🙌 I'm buried in textbooks, case studies, and incessant practice questions while many of my peers are busy with their internships and getting practical experience. Making the decision to concentrate on this demanding certification has been difficult, but the benefits and information I've learned are immeasurable. 😮💨 A CMA's journey is not an easy one. It necessitates a resolute dedication and a firm faith in oneself. My experience juggling my college studies with the rigorous CMA study program has given me significant insight into persistence and time management. Though there have been times when I've felt doubtful and worn out, any little accomplishment—like grasping a hard idea or passing a demanding test—confirms my commitment. 🕰️ Remember that every step you take will bring you one step closer to your objectives. Your journey is distinct. Whether you're working, studying for a certification, or interning, keep in mind that every experience advances your career and personal development. ✨ I am motivated to keep going by the tenacity and diligence of people around me. Let's continue moving forward, helping one another out, and aiming for excellence in whatever we do. Although the route may be difficult, the destination will be well worth the effort. Throw out your assumptions about the PER—it's not your average training stint! To become an ACCA member, you need to conquer three pillars: exams, ethics modules, and the often-misunderstood Practical Experience Requirement (PER). Many see PER as just a training stint, but it's much more than that—it's about proving you've mastered the skills required for the profession. Find Your Kingdom: Your job should involve tasks in accounting, finance, or audit. Even if it's not your primary responsibility, any time spent on these activities counts towards your 36 months' experience. No, your weekend gig as a dog walker doesn't count, even if you're super good at counting puppies. 🐶 The Great Confusion: Is it training? An internship? Part-time? Full-time? A secret mission? Ideally, you want a job where you're neck-deep in numbers and financial jargon. If your role involves a bit of everything, that's cool too. Your experience still counts. You can utilize experience from previous roles, voluntary work, internships—even before registering with ACCA. Starting in a junior role is okay—what matters is gaining more responsibilities over time. Think promotions, job changes, or even job rotations and secondments. To make the most of your PER, plan your career actively. Set goals, target the types of jobs you want, and aim for increasing responsibility. Whether it's a full-time job, part-time role, or voluntary work, ensure you're gaining relevant experience and tracking it properly. Remember, PER is your golden ticket to proving your real-world skills and effectively managing your PER ensures you're on track to becoming a fully qualified ACCA member. # ACCA #accastudents #accamembers #accaglobal #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerGrowth #Accounting #Finance #Audit #PracticalExperience #CareerPlanning # ACCA India # LinkedIn Guide to Creating # LinkedIn

I spent 1st year of my college life as a typical student would do.. - Get into 1-2 societies - Organize couple of fests/events - Secure a decent CGPA - Give CA Foundation Attempt Majority of Bcom(H) student would do all these things in 1st year of college. I did the same. Nothing more, nothing less. Just followed the traditional path. Today when I see myself back, if I was following the same traditional path, - I would have got an internship (paid/unpaid) - I would have a society POR - I would have taken some good opportunities came through LinkedIn - I would have maintained good CGPA - I would have cleared CA Inter by now Sounds good right? But destiny had different plans. Nothing as such happened. I started my own food business in 2nd year of college after investing huge money into it. As far as I have realised, food businesses are not easy to build. You have to be involved in day to day operations, managing chefs, inventory and so on. It's not an easy business model tbh. Today I find myself on roads distributing pamphlets (marketing) I am busy interacting with customers on daily basis (it sucks sometimes listening to unnecessary demands) The business is not profitable yet. I am still burning money. I remember sometime back people used to say, 'Raghav your life is so set' And only I can feel today how unstable it is. Opportunity cost is real in my case (I almost got everything on my plate but I decided to let it go and do something new) But it is what it is!! Life gave me 2 roads.. I chose the one less travelled by.... Do leave a like '👍' if you have read till here. Follow Raghav Bindra to not miss out on amazing things coming out super soon!! ✨ #college #du #srcc #startup #business #life #ca

My first internship, Started at the age of 18 At a stipend of Rs 1500/ month + unbelievable experience that changed life ( can never put a value to this ) A Small team back then but immense responsibility Multiple client interactions since it’s a small team, learnt business like a pro. Feeling of ownership with a taste of the various service verticals Found my calling early on and then dived deep ! Here are some incredible learnings that I’d like to share with those starting out. 1. Start working young. In courses such as CA, Articleship is structured and mandatory. In other courses start as soon as you have the fundamental skills needed to start a job role and the industry accepts you. E.g. ACCA students usually can start post 9-10 papers, CFA students usually can begin in Level 2. Check on work trends for the course you are doing. 2.. Work & Study, it’s the best combination between the classroom and the real world. No substitute for Experiential learning 3. Organically you will find a mentor since you increase your circle from college, coaching classes to the office. 4. While there’s nothing right or wrong in working for organizations of any size, starting off in mid-sized organizations exposes you to multiple roles & variety of work helping you taste firsthand what you like and what isn’t your calling. Then commit to bigger roles and bigger organizations. 5. Remember the first package is only your experience! Money shouldn’t matter. 6. When you qualify and go for your first interview as a professional, you have a resume that speaks of some worldly experience! Just see the confidence with which you interview 7. Your first internship at a young age becomes a memory down the lane. Your first client, your first boss, your first set of friends at the office are most remembered and spoken about :) ___________ On a different note, its my 18th year in the same Group where I interned. People, Businesses, Brand Names, lots changed but certain things remain the same. That's Narendra, our caretaker whose served us 'Chai with a Smile' from then to this day :) #internship #ca #acca #cfa #mba #cpa #cma

You are too Weak at Decision- Making.... 🚫 - Few of my Relatives said me. ~ During my 12th Standard in School, I choose to join my School Faculty's Accountancy tution classes( around 1 hr away from home), inspite of having two more options which were only about 10- 30 mins away from home . Outcome:- ( Scored the highest marks in Accountancy in my school, overall scored 90+ % in my 12th Board exams.) ~ During my 1st year in College, I decided to work on a Marketing-based internship Younity.in, which was not liked by any of my known people, saying its useless . Outcome:- ( Achieved various performance-based certificates ,got back to back promotions to the role of HR Team Lead Intern, & improved on my leadership & Public Speaking skills by a great extent ,all within a time span of 7 months). ~ After passing 10+2 level school exams, I decided to choose CMA as a professional career option & thereby enrolled in its Foundation level rather than doing CA , which was again disliked by most of the people. Outcome :- ( Cleared my CMA Foundation & Inter level within 1.5 years & now preparing for the CMA Final level along with being a Final year College undergrad). Although most of the times people used to criticize my thoughts & decisions by proclaiming that I am weak at all those stuffs, but Maybe weak decision-Making is my strength or maybe it's just that weak decisions fetches you good results, who knows 🤭!!. That's It. P.S.- Have you ever made a self- decision, which affected your career in a better way afterwards?? P.S.S.- Do you too get criticized for your decision- making ??
