It covers a wide range of risks, including: Physical damage: Covers damage to the aircraft, its engines, parts, and equipment, while in storage, transit, or in use Liability: Covers legal liability for passenger injuries, environmental damage, and third-party damage caused by aircraft accidents Property damage: Covers damage to airports, hangars, and other land-based property Loss of cargo: Covers loss of cargo Aviation insurance policies are different from other transportation insurance policies and use aviation-specific terminology, limits, and clauses. Factors Influencing Aviation Insurance Premiums ✈ Aviation insurance premiums can vary widely depending on several key factors. Here are the most important ones to consider: 1. Aircraft Type & Age Newer, safer aircraft typically attract lower premiums, while older models or high-value aircraft incur higher rates due to greater risk and repair costs. 2. Flight Hours & Usage Aircraft used for commercial operations (e.g., charter services, cargo, or air ambulances) are deemed higher risk than those used privately or recreationally. More flight hours increase the premium due to higher exposure to risk. 3. Pilot Experience Insurers evaluate a pilot’s experience, training, and safety record. Experienced pilots with clean records can help lower premiums, while less experienced or higher-risk pilots raise rates. 4. Claims History A history of accidents or claims leads to higher premiums. Operators with a strong safety culture and low claim frequency typically see lower rates. 5. Geographical Location Flying in high-risk areas (e.g., regions with political instability or challenging weather) increases risk and, therefore, premiums. Insurers assess both the operational environment and airspace congestion. 6. Coverage Type & Limits Higher coverage limits or more comprehensive policies (covering third-party liability, passenger injury, etc.) increase premiums. Basic coverage is more affordable but offers less protection. 7. Maintenance Aircraft with a strong maintenance history and adherence to safety standards pose less risk, leading to lower premiums. 8. Market Conditions Broader market factors, such as industry claims, economic trends, and regulatory changes, can affect premium rates. Understanding these factors helps operators manage risks and optimize their insurance costs. By maintaining a good safety record, investing in newer technology, and keeping operational risks in check, aviation professionals can minimize their insurance expenses #aviationinsurance #aviation #operators

Ready for Autumn? 🍃 🌪 In the autumn, many pilots take advantage of every good day for VFR flights on their home base airfield. 🛩 The use of their aircraft might be less than during the summer, due to the decreasing day-light period. Sometimes they are relocating their aircraft to another airfield with more favorable weather. 🌞 A season change is always a good time to check your Aviation Insurance. ❗ More than often we get last-minute requests for the following amendments: ✴ Adding another pilot to the insurance policy (temporary), to conduct a ferry-flight or for a Flight Instructor making a check or training flight with the aircraft owner. ✴ Adding a new pilot (permanently) on the policy to fly the aircraft. ✴ Renting out your aircraft to other pilots: Make sure your Insurance policy is equipped for rental purposes, the pilots meet the minimum flight requirements and they possess the right licenses. ✴ Renting out your aircraft to a flight school or third party. Make sure your Insurance policy is equipped for rental purposes, the other party should be added on both policy as well as on the Insurance certificate as co-insured. Also the same rules should apply for the pilots requirements. ✴ Region cover: Is the region on your Insurance still ok? When flying cross-country (abroad) make sure this country is included/accepted on your Insurance policy as well as the countries you have to pass to fly to that final destination. Also make sure you have the right liability limit when flying on a foreign airfield for a longer period of time. All these requests take some time to get organized and approved by the Insurers and might increase your premium. From pilots we need Names, Birthdays as well as their complete flight history (Licences, Total Time, Ratings, Claims last 5 years) The more complete this information is delivered to us, the faster we can arrange it for you! 📄 Have a great "flying" Autumn! 😊 #insurance #changestopolicy #pilotinformation #changes #amendments #liability #hull #aviation #womeninaviation
