Kindness and beauty all around, Malaysia ku! One day, R, a security personnel at RedQ = AirAsia HQ. Few weeks ago, on a Friday, he stopped my car as I was entering the office. A lot went thru my head as one really do not want to mess with airport or airline security. Naturally, I was stunned. I got self conscious replaying in my head "Alamak, what did I do wrong?" many many many times. But I thought, there is nothing unusual about my morning. But R went to say: "I see you every morning. You're such a blessing because you're always smiling." 😭 I was not expecting that, I bawled. Little that he knows, his words are my blessing on an indeed blessed Friday. I had a tough week then, it felt like the burden was removed with very few sentences. R and I were friends ever since. Diversity-and-inclusion is well and alive at AirAsia. But I guess it is also such a Malaysian thing. Everyone is just so kind to each other and simple gesture goes a long, long way.
