This year, 2024, the World Prematurity Day theme is “Over 130 lakhs babies born too soon every year. Access to quality care everywhere!”. The theme raises awareness about the challenges and risks associated with preterm birth (babies born less than 37 weeks gestation), which is a leading cause of death among children under five years old and the number one cause of childhood disability. It highlights the urgent need for better healthcare, policies, and support systems for premature babies and their families. #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #paediatricoccupationaltherapy #paediatricoccupationaltherapist #sensoryintegrationtherapy #sensoryintegrationtherapist #oralsensoryintegrationtherapy #oralsensoryintegrationtherapist #earlyinterventiontherapist #earlyinterventiontherapy #occupationaltherapyforkids #occupationaltherapystudent #occupationaltherapyforchildren

We understand that complex and catastrophic injuries can compound the difficulties that children and adolescents experience. In these instances, everyone in the family requires support to adjust to the situation. We support babies and children in their growth and development, whilst parents may need guidance in how to navigate the challenges of being both a parent and carer. Goals and aspirations then start to shift, as young clients aim for independence, and caregivers simultaneously strive to maintain closeness and provide support. We assist families in navigating these challenges, while respecting the independence of the young person. #paedsphysio
