🌟 Grateful for an incredible opportunity! 🌟 A huge thank you to Alliance Manchester Business School for inviting us to design and deliver the final stage of the Executive Leadership Acceleration Programme with Wellington College China, in Shanghai! We didn’t expect it to be such a challenging and inspiring journey, aside from the distance and logistics involved of course. Wellington College China is on a remarkable transformation journey, preparing for continued growth and success, and they have made a significant investment in developing both their current and future leaders to drive their vision forward. The entire leadership team couldn’t have been more welcoming and open to learning. They embraced the academic content of the sessions and worked really hard to apply the learning to the development of the group and their individual schools. Our sessions focused on building and leading a global talent management approach, fostering innovation, and empowering leadership to ensure that great leaders not only emerge but choose to stay and grow. Here’s to a future of impactful leadership and continued success! 🚀 #LeadershipDevelopment #TalentManagement #GlobalLeadership #ChangeAndTransformation #WellingtonCollegeChina

#Universities need a new generation of visionary leaders, urge Thomas Estermann & María Blanco Palencia of the European University Association (EUA). It may not always be a simple endeavour, but universities have a responsibility to nurture #leadership within their institutions to ensure #sustainable success and long-term #resilience, argue the authors. It is this very imperative that has led the EUA to develop a pioneering Leadership Development Programme (to run in 2025), designed to equip university leaders with the tools they need to thrive. The first cohort will bring together up to 20 senior leaders from EUA member universities within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Here, they will build leadership capabilities, enriched by shared experiences and a strong #European perspective. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts in #highered and dive into the latest #research-informed and cutting-edge European higher education trends. Finally, the first cohort will tackle leadership challenges in transversal institutional transformations, such as European Universities #alliances, institutional strategies for sustainability, the #digital transition or #equity, #diversity and #inclusion. Participants will also jointly address leadership dilemmas around the major transformational challenges and opportunities for European higher education today. 📌 Read the full story in UWN: https://lnkd.in/gnzkXgX2 📌 The call for participation in the programme is open until 24 October 2024. Find more info here: https://lnkd.in/gf_H6YAm 📌 Info webinar: If you would like to learn more or ask any questions, you can join a dedicated webinar on 18 Sept 2024, from 14.00-14.45 (CEST). Today we are launching the 2024/5 GEM Report on leadership in education in Fortaleza, Brazil during the 2024 Global Education Meeting in the sidelines of the #G20! The report shows that education leaders, often overlooked, shape the direction of their institutions and teams. Their leadership styles vary widely, making it difficult to measure their impact. Yet the needfor good school, system and political leaders is acute to help drive education in the right direction, particularly as education challenges remain daunting. Alongside the report, we are launching the #LeadforLearning campaign inviting education leaders to place efforts to develop leaders in four key leadership dimensions so that they can: 👉 Set expectations 👉 Focus on learning 👉Foster collaboration 👉Develop people For these dimensions to be realized, people in leadership positions should be trusted and empowered; recruited through fair hiring practices; supported to grow; and encouraged to develop collaborative cultures. 📖 Access the report: https://lnkd.in/ePYiteee 📢 Share the social media messages: https://lnkd.in/eAjC3ekE 📽️ Tune in to the launch: https://lnkd.in/eRJV_gb9 And join the latest GEM Report UNESCO campaign!

What can we learn about the Danes and "life design"? A whole lot, it seems. When reading this article, a few things really struck me: 1️⃣ Denmark’s workweek is between 32 and 37 hours 2️⃣ Danish workdays are aligned with school schedules, both ending around 3:45pm 3️⃣ When they ask “What do you do?” Danes first and foremost mean “What do you do for fun?” These policies and attitudes seem like a much healthier way to achieve greater balance between the workday and life and drive focus. What do you think? Read more below 👇👇👇
Companies in Denmark, ranked #2 in this year's "World Happiness Report" focus heavily on building leadership structures based on their employees' overall well-being. The article below notes that schools including #Stanford, #HBS, #Tuck, and #Anderson are starting to create "life design curricula" as current #MBA students will need to learn to manage Gen Z - a generation focused on balance - and Gen Alpha (still to be seen). Read more: https://lnkd.in/gs3CAjmh Pro-tip: As you select schools and work on your #mbaapplications think about the type of leader you want to be. #Leadership is an important concept in #MBA programs but different schools have very different approaches to #leadership. As you address "why this school," think about what it means to you to be a #leader and a school's #leadership philosophy, not just the list of leadership programs a school offers. #mba #mbaapplications #m7 #leadership

Senior educators in leadership roles who have served in the same schools for over eight years will be reshuffled from 2027. According to the Ministry of Education (MOE), this move will allow other schools to benefit from their experience. An MOE spokesperson told Yahoo Southeast Asia on Thursday (28 March) that one to two senior key personnel, such as heads of departments and year heads from each school, are expected to be rotated each year to ensure stability in leadership teams. Presently, principals and vice-principals are rotated every five to seven years. The MOE spokesperson said this initiative aims to facilitate the professional growth of senior key personnel and build a dynamic fraternity of educators. "The rotations will provide senior key personnel with opportunities to contribute to other schools, which will benefit from their years of experience and expertise in education," the ministry explained. MOE said that it will work with school leaders, where needed, to assist these educators in identifying suitable postings for rotation.
