From Scratch to Python: Zara's Journey to Building a Console Twitter Application For the past three weeks, 14-year-old Zara has been tirelessly debugging and adding new features to her console Twitter application, showcasing her impressive Python skills. But what exactly is Python, you ask? As someone who once thought Python referred to the snake, I'm here to enlighten you. Python is a cutting-edge programming language used in developing most AI applications we use today, from ChatGPT and Google Gemini to Blender, a popular open-source software for 2D and 3D design and animation. Zara's journey began last year, at just 13 years old, after gaining a solid understanding of creative computing with Scratch. She quickly grasped the basics of Python programming within weeks. However, like many newcomers, she faced struggles with debugging her codes when encountering advanced concepts. This is often the point where learners feel discouraged, but Zara received the necessary support to stay motivated and confident in her abilities.
