With its long coastlines and strong wind resources, the country holds great potential for offshore wind #energy. However, recent developments have highlighted significant challenges like a complex permitting system and national security issues. In November 2023, the Swedish government rejected 13 offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea, citing defense concerns. Meanwhile, Sweden is transitioning from a developer-led system to a government-led system for offshore wind, aiming to better coordinate the #permitting process while addressing both security and #environmental considerations. ✅ #VSBClimateChecker N°23: Is the shadow impact of wind turbines regulated? As we delve into the realm of wind energy, it's crucial to address the environmental considerations associated with wind turbine installations. The shadow cast by these structures at certain times, especially in the morning when the sun is low, raises questions about their impact on nature and nearby buildings. Careful planning of wind turbines takes into account factors such as shadow duration to ensure a responsible approach to integration. Swipe left to see the main regulations! 💡 Adopting sustainable practices in the wind energy sector is not just about harnessing renewable energy, but also about being a responsible steward of the environment. Let's continue to build a future where clean energy and environmental stewardship go hand in hand. #VSB #windturbine #onshorewind #renewableenergy #energytransition

Last Blade Installation on the Last Wind Turbine Another wind farm #project where AFF windservices has completed the main installation of all wind turbines. A very significant #milestone has just been reached in this wind farm. Now ready for the next phase, as the construction phase is complete. We are getting closer to “handing over the keys to our costumer”. 💨🔑 Shaping the Future Today! Revolutionary water energy at incredible low costs? 🔋⚡️💡This water dragon 🐉 could be the solution! 🚨 Minerva’s tidal kite concept just got installed in Faroe Island 🇮🇸 and already delivers #renewableenergy to the grid. The kite maneuvers in a figure-eight pattern within the tidal stream. Measuring 12 meters wide and weighing 28 tons, is anchored with a rope to harness tidal flows for electricity generation. Costs could drop as low as $54/MWh. This is quite competitive compared to other generation methods like offshore wind (115 USD/MWh). What do you think? 🤔 Could this be a puzzle 🧩 for #sustainableenergy?

Land can be in short supply in some countries, and where neighbors are close, wind farms can be difficult. So, build a new "energy" island (country?) #renewableenergy #landscape #innovation https://lnkd.in/g47GVpmR

Over half a million new wind technicians will need to be employed worldwide by 2028 to meet the increasing demand for onshore and offshore #wind, according to the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), where it anticipates that around 40% of these 532,000 posts will need to be filled by new entrants. The report highlights the need for a resilient supply chain of skilled personnel to build and maintain wind fleets and calls on governments and industry to work to grow the workforce. Imagine small islands of floating wind walls. A kind of wind trap located in the sea, away from the coast and the eyes, can offer twice the area wiped by the most significant commercial air generators. 📌 The project exists and is signed by the Norwegian startup Wind Catching Systems (WCS). 🔎 The company, founded in 2017, presented its particular offshore wind generator just a few years ago and today is jumping for the big step: realising the first demonstration project in a natural environment. 👉 A target that is closer today having received in June 2024 the approval of principle (AiP) from DNV. 📣 “Over the last six months, our team has focused on further maturing the technology through optimising the 40 MW Windcatcher design,” explains WCS in a press release. “A key milestone has been the principal approval by DNV, and we are pleased to announce that this milestone has been achieved.” ⬇️ Link in the first comment #RinnovabiliNET #environmnent #greeneconomy #solar #eolic #energy #greenenergy #solarenergy #windenergy #sustainable #sustainablity #sustainabledevelopment

We need all solutions we can imagine in the mix.
Amazing Innovation - The underwater kite converts underwater tides to electricity. Similar to kite which is anchored under the water and turns underwater tidal power upto 1.2MW. The operational and maintenance cost is much cheaper than other renewable energy sources like wind and solar. #underwaterkite #kite #underwater #tidalpower #electricity
