💸 ARE YOU READY TO INVEST IN A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE? 🌱 Aardpeer, together for land is a Dutch-based movement connecting people and land. Through offering investment opportunities in the form of bonds, Aardpeer purchases land to lease to nature-driven, socially-connected, and economically viable initiatives. 🤝 Farmers pay for a lease that allows them to manage their farm through nature-inclusive practices. And by purchasing bonds, investors receive a nature-friendly interest rate on their loan. 🪱 The aim is to raise €3.5million and already more than €580,000 has been raised! 🥳 Aardpeer is an initiative from BD Grondbeheer, Triodos Bank Regenerative Money Centre, Wij.land and Herenboeren Nederland. 🙌 This innovative movement is a great example of new financial models that connect people to nature in order to restore soil, biodiversity, nature and foster social connections, a healthy economy, and much much more. 💰🐝 Follow the link to invest in the future of food: https://lnkd.in/eq2ewGk5 #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableTransition #Farming

👨🌾 Another great report by #FoodandLandUseCoalition (#FOLU) #WBCSD #WMB on #FutureFit. The report highlights the need for an investment of up to $205B per year to 2030, only 2% of industry worth, to achieve up to 9GTCO2e of mitigation annually, co-benefits, and $30Bn in savings by 2030. However, the costs of transition are inequitably positioned in the value chain, with farmers bearing a disproportionate burden. 🥗 To address this issue, the report suggests that companies can take the following steps: ✅ Develop detailed and costed sustainability strategies ✅ Collaborate directly with farmers to reduce risk and increase income ✅ Develop clear policy and advocacy strategies Congratulations to Morgan Gillespy, Luke Pritchard, Emeline Fellus, Owen Bethell, and Milindi Sibomana, PhD for their great work on this report! 👏 👏 👏

We are excited to announce that Elucid Social has become a member of the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa! Our membership marks a significant step forward in our efforts to fulfill our commitment, including the eradication of #childlabor, #poverty reduction, #deforestation prevention, and promotion of #genderequality — all achieved through ensuring access to #healthcare for farmers. Our commitment aligns with the Cocoa Platform’s Roadmap 2030 goals of enhancing the social, environmental, and economic sustainability of the cocoa value chain. Read more about the Platform’s goals by clicking on this link: https://lnkd.in/e5MKg2Bs The collaboration with the Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa holds great importance for us as it provides a network for sharing expertise, fostering innovative initiatives, and collectively investing in addressing the underlying issues behind numerous supply chain hurdles. We view the Cocoa Platform as playing a pivotal role in influencing and enforcing new regulations for supply chain sustainability, including the integration of access to healthcare as a key cocoa supply chain due diligence practice. The Cocoa Platform has been a persistent supporter of Elucid since its inception. For example, they co-financed one of our projects in Ghana via SECO Economic Cooperation and Development , which gives farmers access to healthcare: https://lnkd.in/ee8FVAVQ We are very happy to embark on the next phase of our journey together by joining Swiss Platform for Sustainable Cocoa as an active member. #socialimpact #humanrights #digitalhealth #sustainability #sustainablecococa #ethicalcourcing

We must transform our food systems so they become a solution to the #ClimateCrisis. “Moving away from a fossil-fuel based food system will not be cheap. It requires unlocking $250-430 billion per year, but this is in fact cheaper— than what is currently spent each year on harmful agricultural subsidies ($635 billion each year)”. Here's a snapshot of our work in 2023 (below); As the Head of Sector Transformation in Aid Environment in East Africa, one of the things that stood out for me during the year was the emerging discussions around EUDR. At AidEnvironment, my sector provides advisory support services on various sustainability issues to commodity companies, especially those dealing in coffee and cocoa in East Africa. Our clients include Coffee/cocoa Exporters to the EU market, roasters, certification bodies, private sector financiers, etc. It was great to see how the EUDR deadlines have brought CSR issues in the sector to life. We are very interested in discussions around social issues such as land rights/tenure, gender, child Labor, youth employment, and living wage/income, as well as environmental issues such as land degradation, climate change, and regenerative agriculture.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗮-𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗼 New partnership between @The Coca-Cola Foundation and Cardano to improve access to clean water and improved sanitation in emerging and developing economies On 23rd May, The Coca-Cola Foundation has agreed to support Cardano’s commitment to mobilize institutional capital to increase access to clean water and improved sanitation in emerging and developing economies. The stark statistics from the United Nations and World Health Organization speak for themselves. Clean drinking water is inaccessible to 2.2 billion people, and 3.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation facilities. For over 419 million people, open defecation is the only option. Access to clean water and improved sanitation is a matter of life and death, as evidenced by the daily deaths of 1,000 children under the age of five due to a lack of clean water, inadequate sanitation, and poor hygiene. In total, 830,000 people die each year from diseases related to poor hygiene, such as cholera and diarrhoea. Investing in access to clean water and improved sanitation is however an often-overlooked area for institutional investors. This is surprising given its potentially significant impact on health, education, gender equality, and economic growth. Jorg Sunderman, Head of Sustainable Asset Management at Cardano, said: “Access to clean water and improved sanitation is an important issue that we need to address as impact investors. However, we see only a limited amount of institutional investors focussed on the issue, while the impact on people’s health and productivity is enormous. The development of the sewer system and the waterworks in the Netherlands took until deep in the 20th century, and has had a bigger impact on people’s health than the invention of penicillin. We are therefore happy to announce the partnership with The Coca-Cola Foundation to help mobilize institutional investors to invest in this theme as part of their impact strategy.” “The Coca-Cola Foundation aims to play a catalytic role in providing water and sanitation to vulnerable communities facing water scarcity. We are excited to collaborate with Cardano to secure critical private sector funding and advocate for greater investment in this under resourced market segment. By ensuring access to clean water and better sanitation facilities, we aim to enhance both individual and community health and livelihoods,” said Saadia Madsbjerg, President of The Coca-Cola Foundation.
