Happy #Pridemonth! The more we talk, the more we understand. 🏳️🌈✨ It's crucial to ensure discussions on gender diversity reach a broader audience beyond social media. In many settings, certain topics are still considered taboo. Families in township places and villages often selectively exclude important discussions to silence the reality, thinking it is unnatural. While metro cities actively embrace diversity, 2tier cities, towns, and villages lack that privilege. Awareness about #pridemonth is essential for all. Let's strive for inclusivity! Mainstream media can play a significant role by amplifying stories of #pride from diverse backgrounds, from cities to villages. Let's make sure every voice is heard, even in the most marginalized communities. #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality Picture credit- AWARE INDIA , calendar 2022✨

The Rise and Power of Queer Leadership In recent years, there has been a significant shift in the political and social landscape, marked by the increasing visibility and influence of queer politicians and social leaders. This rise reflects a broader movement towards inclusivity and diversity, challenging long-standing biases and reshaping public perceptions about leadership and identity. The Emergence of Queer Leaders The emergence of queer leaders in public spaces is not just a testament to individual courage but also a result of decades of activism and advocacy within the Queer Movement. Historically marginalised and often subjected to systemic discrimination, queer individuals have fought tirelessly to gain recognition and rights. Their presence in leadership positions marks a significant breakthrough in the fight for equality and justice. Queer politicians and social leaders bring unique perspectives and experiences that enrich policy-making and advocacy. Their leadership embodies the principles of diversity and inclusivity, ensuring inclusion and participation of the margins in shaping policies that affect all aspects of society. Impact The visibility of queer leaders serves as a powerful symbol of progress and provides role models for younger generations who aspire to leadership roles. Seeing openly queer individuals in positions of power can inspire confidence and ambition in those who may feel marginalised or silenced. The visibility of queer leaders helps to normalise marginal identities in public discourse, reducing stigma and promoting an understanding of the community’s diverse experiences. It challenges stereotypes and encourages a more nuanced conversation about the intersectionality of identity and leadership. Keshav Suri - Executive Director of The Lalit Surya Hospitality Group in India. Today marks the beginning of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! The ways in which Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, especially AAPI women, are affected by racial biases in the workplace are often minimized or overlooked. This is due to the "model minority" phenomenon, a myth that assumes AAPI men and women don't need help or support because they are stereotyped as hardworking, overachieving, and therefore "successful." The facts tell a much different story. For example, according to a 2020 report by Ascend, despite AAPI individuals representing 13% of the U.S. professional workforce, they make up only 6% of executives--and that's not even breaking things down by gender. In fact, that same report finds AAPI women as the least likely to become executives among all racial and gender groups. It's clear that these women find it especially difficult to rise up the ranks in their careers, no matter how hard they work for it. That's why it's important to support and shine a light on the experience of our AAPI sisters, who have professional ambitions they deserve a fair and equitable chance to pursue and achieve. To read more about the AAPI experience in the workforce, check out our new blog post, where we have compiled articles, reports, and more resources that help share the story of our AAPI sisters and what we can all do to support their professional goals: https://hubs.la/Q02vxt5g0 #SuccessShared #C200 #WomenInBusiness #WomenEmpowerment #WomenLeaders #WomenSupportingWomen #WomenWhoLead #StrongWomen #WomenInLeadership #WomenOfImpact #Sisterhood #EmpoweringWomen #AdvancingWomen #CelebrateWomen #WomenExecutives #FemaleNetwork #GenderParity #AAPIHeritageMonth

It is a time of devotion, dance, and cultural festivities that honor the divine feminine energy. This nine-night festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the power of female deities. Challenging Societal Norms Around Gender Inclusion: Riya’s Story Do you know a 🌈 Riya 🌈 like this? Imagine growing up in the heart of Mumbai, feeling like you don't quite fit the mold. Riya's journey was a rollercoaster of self-discovery amidst the backdrop of a conservative Indian household. Growing up in a conservative Indian household, she struggled to come to terms with her identity. She was often found wearing boy's clothes and seen playing with boys. But her story took a beautiful turn when she stumbled upon a local 🌈LGBTQAI+ support group. It was there that Riya found the strength to embrace her true self ✨ a proud lesbian woman. ✨ Riya's path was far from easy. In a society where #LGBTQAI+ rights were often brushed aside, she encountered her fair share of prejudice and discrimination. Yet, in the face of adversity, Riya found her tribe, a community of friends and allies who celebrated her for who she was. Together, they challenged societal norms and paved the way for acceptance and equality. Riya's story is a testament to the power of #empathy and #understanding. Each person's journey is a unique blend of experiences and challenges, shaped by their culture and environment. By embracing diverse narratives like Riya's, we take a step closer to building a world where everyone feels seen and heard. Riya's story is just one thread in the rich concept of LGBTQAI+ experiences in India. It reminds us why awareness and advocacy matter i.e. to honour the struggles and celebrate the triumphs of individuals like Riya, and to create a society where authenticity thrives. From the groundbreaking #decriminalization of #homosexuality in 2018 to ongoing fights for marriage equality and anti-discrimination laws, India's LGBTQAI+ movement has seen remarkable milestones. Each victory is a testament to the resilience and determination of the community. As #PrideMonth unfolds, let's come together to celebrate the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQAI+ community. Let's stand in #solidarity, amplifying voices like Riya's and #advocating for a world where love knows no boundaries. Initiatives like Project SEEKH are beacons of hope for LGBTQAI+ youth in India. Project SEEKH❤️ provides invaluable resources and support, empowering young individuals to embrace their identities and thrive in a world that celebrates their uniqueness. --- Many thanks to Vansh Goyal and Ridhima Gupta for their contribution to Project SEEKH! #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA #PrideMonth #Inclusion #Diversity #LGBTQIAIndia #Equality #Support #Empowerment #Community #ProjectSEEKH #LoveIsLove #Authenticity #Resilience #Advocacy #Acceptance #genderiinclusion #volship #volshipcohort6

On Women's Day celebration at Hinduja Renewables me and my friend Aayushi Singh had the privilege of meeting Ritushree Panigrahi , India's first Transgender Standup comedian and Lawyer. A truly enlightening interaction shedding light on the struggles faced by the transgender community in the 21st century. Despite progress, discrimination persists, hindering access to basic rights such as education and proper facilities. Ritushree passionately highlighted two crucial factors: Profitability: Discrimination against the transgender community deprives us of top talent. Embracing diversity is not just a moral imperative but an economic one, fostering a richer contribution to our economy and society. Equity vs Equality: Acknowledging their humanity and talents is the first step. It's essential to understand that physical differences don't define mental capabilities. True progress lies in recognizing and accepting the equal potential of every individual. Let's strive for a world where everyone, regardless of gender identity, enjoys their fundamental rights and contributes their unique talents.⚧️ 🏳️🌈 #WomensDay #TransgenderRights #DiversityandInclusion #equalityforall
