When burnout threatens to dim your passion, remember these key strategies:
1. Reconnect with Your "Why"
Revisit why you came into education. The lightbulb moments in learning, the potential to shape futures—these are your fuel.
2. Micro-Moments of Joy
Intentionally celebrate small wins - write a few down each day. A pupil's breakthrough, a staff member's achievement, a thank you, etc. Our brains work as velcro for the negative and Teflon for the positive! Switch that up.
3. Professional Boundaries
Set clear limits between work and personal life. Protect your energy by defining non-negotiable personal time and learning to delegate effectively. Create an action that tells your brain - I'm done for the day. It could be taking off your watch, your lanyard, putting your workbag out of sight when you're home, etc.
4. Continuous Learning
Invest in your professional development. Attend workshops, engage with coaching, network with inspiring colleagues who reignite your professional spark.
5. Self-Compassion
Treat yourself with the same kindness you extend to your students and staff. Your wellbeing is the foundation of your professional impact.
