FedEx Express is leading the way in sustainable logistics with the pilot introduction of the Mercedes-Benz Truck eActros 300 Electric Tractor in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The tractor unit is being used in place of a combustion engine tractor and trailer combination, to fulfil domestic linehaul operations from Eindhoven station in the Netherlands. For the pilot period the tractor will be paired with an existing FedEx-owned trailer, transporting shipments collected from larger customers on to FedEx hubs elsewhere in the Netherlands. The tractor will recharge onsite at the Eindhoven station during down time, using a 40kW temporary charging solution. As consumers demand more eco-friendly operations, companies are taking note and prioritizing sustainability in their supply chains. FedEx Express' latest move towards net-zero operations sets a positive example for the industry. #Sustainability #Logistics #CorporateSocialResponsibility #ClimateChange #NetZero #emobility https://lnkd.in/dAr-GBWh

𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕-𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒐-𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒆-𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒌 Having just achieved our Ecovadis Bronze medal, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's a commitment ingrained in our core values. We're delighted to announce a significant step forward in our sustainability journey with the 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 (𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬) 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. An integral part of this plan involves the installation of five cargo partner branded 7.5t / 10t e-trucks in the local cartage segment across Europe by the end of 2024. Spearheaded by our COO, Thomas Schledorn, this initiative marks a significant milestone in our mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote eco-friendly logistics solutions. In collaboration with trusted core carriers, we will invest in cutting-edge electric truck technology, ensuring seamless integration into our daily operations. These eco-friendly trucks will be exclusively dispatched by our dedicated ROAD staff for first and last-mile collections and deliveries. Our initial focus countries for 2024 include Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia. We're excited to kickstart the testing phase in Austria from 26 to 29 March 2024 and in Slovakia in mid-April, with plans to expand to other countries based on the success of our pilot programs. We are starting by testing a Mercedes-Benz eActros-300 with a driving range of 250 to 300 km on a single charge, which will be conducting daily tours around the hub of Fischamend at the end of March. Together, we're driving positive change and shaping the future of freight transportation. Join us on this exciting journey towards a greener, more sustainable tomorrow. #CargoPartner #Sustainability #ElectricTrucks #LogisticsInnovation #GreenTransportation #RoadToSustainability #FutureOfFreight #CarbonNeutralLogistics #DrivingChange #EnvironmentallyFriendlyLogistics

⚕️ This week, we are celebrating the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸! Putting #zero-#emission trucks on the road for long-haul freight traffic means challenging the rules that have guided logistics development up to now. Not only new rules on vehicle weight and size to accommodate an average of 4 extra tons and 0.9 meters length, but also a complete rethink of the logistics model. The costs for vehicles, energy, and operational difficulties still keep us far from competing with business as usual. The word I’ve heard most in these two days in Gothenburg for the annual ZEFES partner meeting is: 'chicken and egg,' meaning no market volume, no investments. However, at GRUBER Logistics we believe in this and work every day to make these solutions competitive, but it is a task that must be carried out in #partnership with customers, #truck manufacturers, and #energy providers. Is it enough to believe in it? No, of course not. We also need a regulatory framework that allows electric vehicles to become more competitive at the expense of traditional ones. That's why it was important to have the European Commission here with us today. We need a holistic project. Thanks to the great panelists together with me at Volvo Trucks headquarters.
