Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer diagnosed in the United States. Buffalo Hospital is the first location in the Allina Health system to use an artificial intelligence-based tool to screen for colorectal cancer. Called GI Genius, it is designed to help with the detection of colorectal polyps, often the precursor to colorectal cancer. This tool helps the provider detect flat polyps faster and in hard-to-view areas. This is another example of Allina Health being a leader in care innovations that leverage technologies, like artificial intelligence. Active surveillance for #prostatecancer patients doesn't mean that nothing is done - this is an option that in some cases is just as relevant as the curative treatment for others. Once we may ensure the sufficient accuracy in localizing and characterizing cancer, watchful observation could be the best option to manage some prostate cancer patients. Please find a chance to read the paper on "Personalization and efficiency in prostate cancer care" webinar that we have held couple of months ago [there is a link to it in the "Related content" section too]. Here Mukesh Harisinghani, Dr. med. Paulo Leonardo Pfitzinger and I talk about today's best practices and challenges in prostate cancer management, as well, discuss our aspirations for tomorrow's greater care. #oncology #gehealthcare https://lnkd.in/eV3BQTtr

Did you know that Colorectal cancer, a silent threat, affects one in 23 men and one in 25 women. The good news is that through early detection and screening, the death rate from colorectal cancer is on the decline. Early identification of that risk is essential to ensuring an early diagnosis, and thus earlier and usually easier treatments when necessary. Stay ahead of colorectal cancer with our Colorectal Cancer Screening Blood Test. Take the first step towards a healthier future by visiting Any Lab Test Now in Ashburn. The primary goal of cancer screening is to detect cancer at its earliest stage when treatment is still an option. However, the primary goal of colorectal cancer screening is to identify abnormal growths, known as polyps, well before they become cancerous. Did you know there is an alternative to detecting colon cancer without a colonoscopy? How? There is a capsule known as PillCam that can simplify the process of detecting colon cancer. People can test for colon cancer by merely swallowing this tiny capsule that contains several miniature cameras. The transmitted images from the internal body would help doctors determine whether or not the person has bowel cancer. The process takes five to eight hours. And the best part is that the procedure is painless and non-invasive for the patients. Watch the video below to see how PillCam works. What are your thoughts on this innovation? Robert J. 🌬️ Innovating Colorectal Cancer Screening: Breathomics 🌬️ Early detection of colorectal cancer is crucial for improving outcomes and reducing mortality. However, current screening methods still face challenges, including patient discomfort and low uptake. ✨ Breathomics, the study of breath composition and analysis, is paving the way for non-invasive cancer detection and monitoring. The ONCOSCREEN project is exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence to analyze Breathomics data, making screening more effective and accessible for all. 💙 Read the scientific publication authored by Ioannis K. It's important to have a primary care practitioner (PCP) for a lot of reasons, but it's particularly important for understanding what cancer screenings you might need. Cancer screenings allow us to identify cancers earlier before we have any noticeable symptoms when cancer is easier to treat, and survival is much more likely. A new retrospective cohort study found that having a PCP improved cervical cancer screening rates compared to those without. #cervicalcancer #cancerscreening #PCP #earlydetection

Early detection is key in the fight against cancer. Emerging screening modalities such as full body MRI and Liquid Biopsy offer promising tools to identify cancer at its earliest stages. Detecting cancer at an early stage not only increases the chances of successful treatment but also improves overall survival rates. Full body MRI scans provide detailed images of the entire body, allowing healthcare providers to detect abnormalities that may indicate the presence of cancer. Liquid Biopsy, on the other hand, involves analyzing blood samples for circulating tumor cells or DNA shed by tumors, offering a less invasive way to monitor cancer progression and treatment response. These innovative screening methods have the potential to revolutionize cancer diagnosis and treatment, offering hope to patients and their families. By leveraging the power of early detection, we can improve outcomes and save lives. ℹ️ #CancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #MedicalAdvancements #HealthScreening #CancerResearch #LiquidBiopsy #MRI #FightCancer #HealthAndWellness
