Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer diagnosed in the United States. Buffalo Hospital is the first location in the Allina Health system to use an artificial intelligence-based tool to screen for colorectal cancer. Called GI Genius, it is designed to help with the detection of colorectal polyps, often the precursor to colorectal cancer. This tool helps the provider detect flat polyps faster and in hard-to-view areas. This is another example of Allina Health being a leader in care innovations that leverage technologies, like artificial intelligence.
