To all those involved in causing restrictions, suspensions, and career sabotage, I ask: why is it wrong to stand in solidarity against the man-made suffering that drives oppressive and brutal regimes, ethnic cleansing, and humanitarian crises? As we witness ongoing tragedies in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, and other regions, the relentless abuse of power driven by greed for wealth and dominance is profoundly disturbing.
Why are those who take pleasure in or benefit from such suffering rewarded and supported? How can anyone find peace knowing they contribute to these injustices? How can we claim to uphold values while selectively applying them only when convenient for personal gain, such as promotions or awards?
These contradictions highlight a grave failure to adhere to genuine principles of justice and humanity. It is imperative that we confront these issues honestly and strive to ensure that our values are reflected in our actions, not just our words.

Yesterday, I attended the "IHSA: Annual Lecture on War and Humanity." While listening to the speakers, I began to write the following.
I believe that humanitarian response is about saving lives and alleviating the suffering. Evacuating people to a peaceful place with sufficient supplies (like water, medicine, and food) and access to sanitarians, power, etc., should be a high priority. Population movement outside a conflict area for the short- or longer-term could help provide the immediate humanity framework.
I worked in a healthcare service for refugees in Kutupalong, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, in 2018.
I provided basic supplies to refugees while they temporarily stayed in a camp in Germany in 2015.
In Syria, I met people who searched for a dignified and safe life for themselves and their loved ones in 2019-2021.
🙏
I understand that displacement and relocation from your land and home can be traumatic and create circumstances where a return can be difficult, if not impossible.
Nevertheless, when hostility and violence cannot stop via a peace agreement between the parties and with mediation or intervention from external actors, the movement of civilians to safety could be necessary.
How much shall a population be ready to cope with to achieve justice, human rights, and dignity?
When does the global society's obligation begin and stop in the efforts to help and support the many who have left their lives behind in the pursuit of survival under unknown conditions?
For over a month, North #Gaza has been under siege and the humanitarian situation is deteriorating rapidly.
Palestinians there are facing starvation and forced displacement.
Humanitarian access remains severely restricted, preventing life-saving aid from reaching those in desperate need. Alarmingly, some communities report being punished for receiving assistance.
"It seems there is no limit to the cruelty being inflicted on the Palestinian civilians. These atrocities must end," says Jonathan Whittall our Head of Office a.i. for the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
A horrifying first-hand account from Jonathan. ⬇️
Our government is literally helping Israel commit genocide. According to our own U.S. military, Israel has killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in the past 5 months: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc
Can you imagine how big a pile of 25,000 dead mothers & children would be? Well our taxes are helping pay for it & it’s getting bigger every day.
Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 children, & has demolished the homes of around 1 million children, making them homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, KILLING THEM WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs.

PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars & U.N. veto protection.

To really understand the Israel-Palestine conflict, people need to put themselves in the shoes of a Palestinian refugee (most of the people in Gaza). What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing, to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since 1967, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys.

And how can anyone claim that this conflict started on October 7th when between 2000 & Oct 2023, Israeli soldiers & settlers killed nearly 2300 Palestinian children, including 43 children during the 9 months just before Oct 7th (names & details on BTselem.org).
Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war.

And when Palestinians have tried to protest peacefully, Israel shoots them in the knees, kills, or at least imprison & beat them. Biden's plan to airdrop aid into Gaza is unthinkable!
The fact that the US can't ensure trucks access Gaza is beyond belief!
These so-called "aid" drops offering ready-meals, ignoring crucial medical supplies Gaza desperately needs!
Portraying Palestinians as subhumans to the world, robbing them of their dignity. It's time for meaningful action, not symbolic gestures!

Amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the safety and well-being of doctors, nurses, humanitarian workers, and civilians must be our utmost priority. The recent loss of Mohammed Abdul Latif Abu Saeed, a dedicated member of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, underscores the urgent need for protection.
Health workers tirelessly serve on the frontlines, risking their lives to provide critical care. Yet, they face immense challenges. Hospitals are overwhelmed, supplies are scarce, and communication disruptions hinder their efforts. The tragic deaths of colleagues from Magen David Adom and Palestine RCS further highlight the gravity of the situation.
As a global community, we must rally to safeguard these brave individuals. Immediate actions are imperative:
Humanitarian ceasefire: All parties must heed the call for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
Safe passage: Ensure unimpeded movement of medical supplies, fuel, water, and food.
Protection: Shield health facilities, ambulances, and civilians seeking refuge.
Let us honour those lost by advocating for peace and prioritizing the safety of those who serve humanity.

Not easy information to take in. The way I know that it's true is I've been following this Hamas story for at least 10 years. The Israelis and the IDF have already known about how a large amount of the international and Israeli-donated goods meant for the civilians are used by the rulers, Hamas. There's nothing new about this. Nothing new about the construction materials meant for public use being used for tunnel building
to protect and hide the grossly corrupt Hamas organization and its resident terrorists, and run by absentee terror lords living comfortably in other countries.
They are not going to give up their atrocious privilege unless they're so destroyed they can't continue. Is this is getting clear to some people? Israelis have known about these realities all along but for some clueless folks, all of a sudden Hamas can do very little wrong.
It is really hard to take in evil at this deep and awful level, but it is there, it does exist and it does not remove itself. It has been preying upon the celebrated victimhood theme instead of literally helping its own people.
At the outset people of Oct.7, people, who themselves were looking for something to clamor about, picked right up on the victim theme, quite possibly as an expression of their own felt status. Many of them, some of them will now admit it, were incredibly uninformed but went ahead without any understanding of the situation's complexity, nor apparently do they want to know about that part.
Basically Hamas is a cowardly bullying organization of terrorizing capabilities that actually knows no other way to exist. Try to grasp this please. Also think Putin, Orban and the other world bullies who just can't get with being in ordinary democracies that try to help everybody, even low life types like this.
Today I published a post about the use that Hamas and crime families make of humanitarian aid for their needs and to enrich their coffers.
I received messages from people who really "care" about the Palestinians in Gaza and claimed that it was a distortion of reality.
So here is more evidence on the subject.
The only ones who distort reality are those who give support to Hamas and allow it to continue exploiting the Palestinian struggle for its own needs.
Those who support Hamas actually harm not only Israel and its citizens but also the residents of Gaza.
Hamas survives and grows stronger thanks to them and continues to dominate its reign of terror in Gaza.
If you care about human life, about Gazans and in general you have humane values, you should stop feeding the monster that murders Gazans and Israelis indiscriminately.
The only goal of Hamas is the strengthening of Hamas and the destruction of Israel.
The residents of Gaza and a Palestinian state are just tools in their hands.
We join the Syrian people in their unwavering hope and cautious optimism for a better future.
However, the humanitarian needs inside Syria remain enormous.
The escalation over the past two weeks has triggered new displacements with an estimated one million people fleeing the violence, bringing the number of displaced people higher than eight million.
CARE stands by the people of Syria and is ready to support them to rebuild their country.
As Syria enters this transitional period, it is essential to support local civil society and women-led organisations, who are best placed to lead efforts to rebuild their country in line with the aspirations of their people.

On World Humanitarian Day, we stand in solidarity with the brave humanitarians on the frontlines in Gaza and across the globe. These individuals work under unimaginable pressures, risking their lives to deliver essential aid, protect human dignity, and bring hope to those caught in the crossfire of conflict and crisis.
This year's theme, "Act for Humanity," is a call to action for all of us to support the tireless efforts of those who are on the ground, providing life-saving assistance in some of the most dangerous and challenging environments. In Gaza, where communities face ongoing hardship and uncertainty, humanitarians are a lifeline, offering medical care, food, clean water, and shelter amid chaos.
On this day, let's not only honor these heroes but also amplify their voices and advocate for their safety. Their work is more than just a job; it’s a mission driven by compassion and a deep-seated belief in the power of humanity.
We can all contribute to this mission. By raising awareness, supporting humanitarian organizations, or simply spreading the message of solidarity, we can ensure that those who dedicate their lives to helping others are not alone in their struggle.
God Bless,

“The diseases of the rational soul are long standing and hardened vices, such as greed and ambition – they have put the soul in a straightjacket and have begun to be permanent evils inside it. To put it briefly, this sickness is an unrelenting distortion of judgement so things that are only mildly desirable are vigorously sought after.”
Seneca
I appreciate that no-one wants to see children starving to death.
But, unless you have been closing your eyes to it, you cannot fail to see the humanitarian crisis developing in Gaza. All the aid agencies have been clear that effective humanitarian aid can only be delivered under a lasting ceasefire.
Which might make you wonder why America has chosen to veto votes for a ceasefire at the UN Security Council on three occasions before finally submitting their own flawed Resolution.
AIPAC
Have a look at the loudest American political voices in support of Israel and then have a look at who AIPAC gives money to.
Always follow the money.
Which brings me back to something I seem to be saying far too often.
Leading authentically is hard work.
Leadership must first be addressed at the personal level.
To paraphrase Gandhi, “Be the leader you want to see in the world.” It is apparent that many leaders at the top today missed this point and went after position, prestige, power, and wealth instead.
2000 years on and those in power are still having their judgement distorted by greed.
