We are pleased to announce our new partnership with STAX Engineering, which will be implemented in early 2025. This partnership combines e1 Marine’s advanced methanol-to-hydrogen power systems (M2PWR) with STAX’s cutting-edge emissions capture and control (C&C) technology. This collaboration, funded by the South Coast AQMD and California Air Resources Board as part of California Climate Investments – aims to accelerate the maritime industry’s decarbonization, and improve the public health and environment for those living in coastal communities. As part of this initiative, e1 Marine will install its M2PWR systems onto STAX’s barges to further enhance the cleanliness of STAX’s power sources – benefitting crew welfare and the environment. e1 Marine’s solution provides an immediately viable, low-to-zero-pollution alternative to fossil fuels. However, when fitted with STAX’s patented C&C technology, which easily attaches to auxiliary and boiler exhausts across all vessel classes without modification, the symbiotic technologies remove 99% of particulate matter (PM) and 95% of nitrogen oxides (NOx) before releasing purified gas. We’re excited to announce our collaboration with e1 Marine on a first-of-its-kind, barge-based emission capture and control project, funded by the California Air Resources Board and South Coast Air Quality Management District. This project combines STAX’s CARB-compliant emissions capture and control (C&C) technology with e1Marine’s methanol-to-hydrogen (M2PWR) power systems. Together, we aim to showcase a new standard in sustainable, clean-burning solutions that reduce emissions for all ocean-going vessels. Key highlights of our partnership: 💨 Emission reduction: STAX’s C&C technology removes up to 99% of particulate matter (PM) and 95% of nitrogen oxides (NOx), ensuring cleaner air quality at ports. 🌱 Clean power support: e1Marine’s M2PWR system will supplement STAX barges with hydrogen-generated power. 🌍 Community impact: This project, part of California Climate Investments, is focused on reducing emissions in California’s coastal communities, demonstrating safe and effective emissions capture. “Our partnership with e1Marine showcases our commitment to exceeding regulatory standards and accelerating maritime decarbonization,” said STAX CEO Mike Walker.
