Anyone who thinks it's easy to land an S/BDR job -- you're completely wrong. 24 hours after posting that Mosaic.tech is hiring for a BDR role, we had: - 226 Applications - 167 LinkedIn Connection Requests - 105 LI Messages - 8 Cold Emails - 5 Intros (from respected sales dev leaders) - 3 LI Voice Notes - 2 LI Chat Looms - 1 Phone Call + VM + Text (all the same person) Just looking at these numbers alone, that gives you a 0.5% chance at landing the role... The good thing is, if you can land the role, you should be successful in seat. Software Account Executives, I want your advice! I have 4 years experience closing Mid-market at $300k+ ARR. I built all the sales process and sales team myself, ending as VP Sales at a software startup. Loved it, but I was managing so much & I missed being in Sales! Now after hitting the startup grind twice (also built a consulting biz), I want to join a nice big Sales organization - just focus on closing those Mid-Market & Enterprise deals for a bigger software company! Questions: 1. Should I stay focused on AE roles & AE executive recruiters in my job search, or apply for SDR roles as well, to gain access to the organization, and then bubble up to AE later?? 2. Or should I focus on the job openings posted? And create resumes & client stories that reflect each position I apply for - applying at all levels? I'm so excited for this next chapter in my career.
