What Will Happen to Talent Visas if Trump Becomes President? Ever wondered what might happen to Talent Visas if Donald Trump becomes president again? Let's take a look at what could change with quotas, requirements, and other aspects of visa issuance. Rising "O" Visas Since Trump Left Office: Since Trump left, the number of "O" visas has been climbing significantly: 2020: 15,415 visas 2021: 13,002 visas 2022: 36,922 visas 2023: 38,782 visas (Source: Travel.State.Gov U.S.) What Could Change Under Trump? Enhanced Visa Scrutiny: We might see more frequent administrative checks and Requests for Evidence (RFE) Historical Precedent: Remember in 2020, when Trump paused H1B visas due to COVID-19? We could see similar actions in the future What Could Stay the Same? Focus on Illegal Immigration: The main focus might stay on illegal immigration, which could mean Talent programs remain largely unaffected Personal Connection: Melania Trump, who benefited from the EB-1 Talent Visa, might advocate for a more lenient approach to these visas Recent Proposals: Trump has proposed ideas like Green Cards for U.S. college graduates, highlighting the need for talented individuals in the country While the future of U.S. immigration policy is uncertain, one thing is clear: America values its talented immigrants. And with Melania Trump having firsthand experience with the Talent Visa process, we might have a strong advocate for these programs. 📢 Important Immigration Update: FY2024 Employment-Based Visa Numbers Exhausted The Department of State (DOS) has announced that all available EB-2 visas for Fiscal Year 2024 have been used. As of this week, DOS confirmed that all visa numbers in the EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EW (other workers), EB-4, and EB-5 (unreserved) preference categories have now been utilized for the remainder of FY2024. Key points: • USCIS will continue to accept adjustment of status applications for the rest of September 2024, in accordance with the September 2024 Visa Bulletin and the Adjustment of Status Filing Charts. • However, USCIS will not approve any cases in these categories this month. • New visa numbers will become available on October 1, 2024, when FY2025 begins. This development underscores the high demand for employment-based immigrant visas and the limitations of current annual limits. It's crucial for employers and foreign nationals to stay informed and plan accordingly. If you have any questions about how this may affect your immigration case, please don't hesitate to reach out. #ImmigrationLaw #EmploymentVisas #USCIS #ImmigrationUpdate
