The report offers solutions, including: ▶Putting young children at the heart of education policies. ▶Increasing funding from domestic & international sources. ▶Strengthening global partnerships. ▶Expanding #RightToEducation to ensure every child thrives. As of September 2023, according to UNESCO, the number of children NOT in school globally had increased by six million, which brought the total to 250 million. And we can be sure that this number had increased by the first quarter of 2024. There are many factors contributing to this staggering statistic, we’d like to ask you to join us this month in praying for one – educational resources: · There is a vast lack of resources which make it challenging for educators to be able to educate – pray for provision of critical resources. · Pray for governments around the world to prioritize their country’s educational needs. · Pray that families would support their children’s need for an education. · Pray for additional afterschool educational support and for those who have a calling to work with children to gain the required access.

What Is World Teachers' Day? 🎁World Teachers’ Day is an annual event held worldwide in celebration of teachers everywhere. The day aims to highlight the hard work of teachers and the crucial role they play in child development. 🎁World Teachers’ Day gives us an opportunity to appreciate the efforts of teachers all over the world. It also helps to highlight issues faced by educators, and look at ways that the teaching profession can be improved. 🎁The event is co-convened by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Education International (EI). 🎁What Is the History of World Teachers’ Day? The history of World Teachers’ Day goes back to 1994, when it was decided that there should be a global event to celebrate teachers and teaching. The date of 5th October was chosen because it is the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO / UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. This is an instrument that outlines the universal standards, rights and responsibilities for teachers. It sets benchmarks for teacher recruitment and retention, initial teacher training, and ongoing professional development for teachers around the world. 🎁The first World Teachers’ Day was held on 5th October 1994, and the event has been held annually ever since. The event is used to highlight the importance of teachers and the work they do, and to look at ways to improve teacher recruitment and retention by better supporting teachers and making them feel more valued. Great day for gifting and acknowledging teachers!! #worldteachersday #gifts #support #surprisegifts #customgifts #personalgifts #perthnow

In preparation for the formal launch of the M.K Turner Report, we had the privilege of connecting with a number of Children's Ground Elders and community leaders from Central Australia and the Top End in Melbourne. Thank you for sharing the findings, your own lived experience and the incredible outcomes that First Nations-led education is having on children through Children's Ground and other grassroots organisations who are making change across the country! The M.K. Turner Report is a landmark report that has been developed with more than 60 First Nations education experts representing a diversity of Nations. The Report offers six key recommendations, the central recommendation is for the Australian Government to commit to the establishment of a new First Nations education system, designed and led by First Nations people. The reports present national and international evidence that shows the critical importance of children learning through their First languages and cultures as the foundation for success in learning and lifelong economic opportunity. The M.K. Turner Report offers a very clear First Nations-led solution and a roadmap to system reform that will work to effectively and sustainably Close the Gap. Last week they were in Canberra alongside members of Utyerre Apanpe (First Nations Educators Network) to meet with with parliamentarians and key federal departments, launch the M.K Turner Report and advocate for the establishment of a First Nations Education system.
