🌏 Opening the LeadWomen APAC DEI Summit 2024 with a Vision for "Humanity Rebalanced" 🌏 Our first panel, "DEI Thought Leadership – Asian Context," was a thought-provoking deep dive into the ways Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion must be reimagined to reflect Asia’s cultural and organisational landscapes. Under the expert guidance of moderator Anne Abraham, distinguished speakers Ruslan Islahudin (PETRONAS), Mahuran Saro Sariki (TalentCorp), Kay Luan TAY (FIDE Forum), and Jukhee Hong (ASEAN-BAC Malaysia) explored the unique opportunities and challenges of adapting global DEI frameworks to our region. The discussion emphasised the need for a region-specific approach: one that respects cultural hierarchies and family-oriented values while ensuring diverse perspectives are included in every boardroom. Key themes included Malaysia’s ongoing DEI progress, the crucial role of governance in fostering inclusive leadership, and positioning DEI not merely as an organisational asset but as a national priority. Audience interaction through live Q&A and Slido underscored the depth of engagement, inviting reflections on how DEI can truly rebalance humanity. As the summit progresses, this session leaves a powerful reminder that inclusive practices are not just about fairness - they are essential drivers of resilience and sustainable growth across Asia. Together, we're setting the stage for a more inclusive, balanced future.🌱 #HumanityRebalanced #APACDEISummit2024 #DEI #LeadWomen #InclusiveLeadership

Starting the week with a strong sense of optimism about the state of the market. What was once a promising upward trend has now solidified into broad-based demand for senior talent, particularly at the Partner and MD levels, across all areas of our business. This momentum is a clear signal of growing confidence as organisations gear up for an anticipated surge in demand and M&A activity in the year ahead. Professional Services firms, in particular, are aligning their strategies to capture this opportunity, recognising that investment in senior leaders is crucial to capitalising on market tailwinds. We’re seeing heightened demand for talent with a proven ability to drive client relationships and navigate complex, evolving client needs. In this context, competition for exceptional senior talent is expected to escalate, especially for those who can deliver commercial impact and build sustainable, long-term client partnerships. On a personal note, I’m looking forward to a shorter workweek and some time away with Kamala—taking a moment to recharge and prepare for what promises to be an active and exciting close to the year. Here’s to making the most of this momentum as we head into the final stretch of 2024.

Key insights from our latest DEI Leader event! 🌟 At our recent DEI Leader Panel Discussion, we gathered valuable insights on driving DEI initiatives forward. Here are the highlights: 💡 Board-Level commitment: The support of your board matters. Board sponsorship is crucial to embed DEI at the highest levels of decision-making and resource allocation. 💡 Integrate DEI into Business Strategy: DEI should be an integral part of your business strategy, not a standalone initiative. This seamless integration ensures that DEI principles guide all aspects of your operations. 💡 Holistic social impact: There's a growing trend of combining ESG efforts with DEI initiatives under a broader 'social impact' umbrella. This comprehensive approach amplifies the positive change we can achieve together. 💡 Measure impact: Utilize comprehensive surveys and tools to continuously assess the employee experience and measure the year-over-year impact of your DEI initiatives. 💡 Engage everyone: DEI is a collective effort! Encourage all employees to actively participate by incorporating DEI contributions into performance assessments. This ensures that DEI work is recognized and valued across the organization. 💡 Regional nuances matter: Navigating DEI across different regions comes with unique challenges. For instance, "diversity fatigue" in the US might not resonate globally. The approach to DEI must be culturally sensitive and adaptable. Thank you to our fantastic panelists! 🙌🏽💫 #DEI #DiversityEquityInclusion #SocialImpact #BusinessStrategy #EmployeeEngagement #

📝 Honoured to have contributed to this impactful and insightful study on Cross-Generational Culture in Family Business! 👨👨👧👦 👩💼👨💼 Around the world, family businesses account for the majority of economic output and employment, and their contribution is increasing. A key element that makes these companies stand out from their competitors is their distinctive culture—typically characterized by long-term vision, strong values, and a commitment to contributing meaningfully to customers, employees, and society. 📈 If the leaders of family businesses proactively nurture and manage that culture, it can underpin sustained growth and value creation. However, if not managed consciously, aligning cultures and leadership styles between different generations can pose numerous challenges and vulnerabilities. 🌍 Egon Zehnder recently conducted a comprehensive study in partnership with FBN (Family Business Network), exploring the impact of culture on family business through a survey of 300 family business owners across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. #EgonZehnder #FBN #FamilyBusiness #Culture #NextGen #Succession Here's what we found: https://ego.nz/3Cbrcra
