At Outreach, we know the harsh truth—85% of the youth we serve have been through the foster care system. As the number of homeless youth continues to rise in Marion County, so does this number. It’s a number that demands change. Kyle Williams, our Director of Coaching, emphasizes that at Outreach it’s not just about addressing today’s challenges—it’s about finding long-term solutions and tackling the root causes. Our youth and young adults need more than quick fixes; they need systematic changes to address the deep, systemic issues that have shaped their lives for years. We’re committed to changing the future for these young people. Together, we can reverse this trend and make a real difference in the lives of our youth and young adults in Marion County. For four years, Vanessa Artis and her two adult children slept on the sidewalks of Parramore. Their fortunes changed last year thanks to the Christian Service Center and a federal grant that has significantly reduced homelessness in the neighborhood. The Artis family was first placed in an extended-stay hotel and then moved to an apartment in Sanford. The $617,000 federal grant, creatively utilized by the Center and the city of Orlando, has lifted 257 people out of homelessness in its first year. The city plans to continue the program with additional federal funding. Despite these efforts, unsheltered homelessness in Orlando has increased by 75% over the past five years, highlighting the urgent need for affordable housing solutions. This year’s Solidarity Journey was truly unforgettable! From Tijuana to Oceanside, we came together as a community—walking, biking, and connecting with staff, neighbors, partners, and policymakers. It was a week filled with camaraderie, hope, and a shared commitment to ending youth homelessness in San Diego County. Together, we showed love, listened to young people, and reminded them that they are at the heart of the solution. ❤️ But this journey wasn’t just about walking—it was about making real, tangible progress. At the YMCA of San Diego County’s Youth & Family Services, we’re helping to create a lasting impact: ➡︎ Over 1,000 young people supported with housing, case management, and resources last year. ➡︎ 147 young people found stable housing through our transitional programs. ➡︎ And with the support of our community, funders, and partners, we’re expanding services every day. When we focus on supporting young people, the impact goes far beyond today. Half of all adults who’ve experienced homelessness faced it before age 25. By helping young people build stability early, we can reduce homelessness and build stronger communities for everyone. And our work isn’t done yet. Ending youth homelessness takes all of us—and YOU can be part of the solution. Advocate for policies that support young people, get involved in community action, or consider giving. Let’s keep this momentum going and make sure every young person has a safe place to call home. 🏡 Visit sojocali.com for more information. #SolidarityJourney #EndYouthHomelessness #YMCA #SanDiego #CommunityImpact #StrongerTogether Todd Tibbits Krysta Esquivel, MSW David Baker Justin C. P.S.A - We don't just design fabulous homes for our clients, although we're pretty good at it 😉 #HumbleBrag Our work is rooted in inspiring HOPE in our client's lives. Here's what that looks like: 👉 1. Setting The Stage We not only give our clients a fresh start with their home transformation but inspire greater hope in their lives. These transformations act as a catalyst to help our clients achieve their dreams with a solid foundation - a house turned into a home! 👉 2. Ending Homelessness We seek to disrupt the cycle of homelessness, and we do! Less than 1% of those affected by homelessness return to it after working with Humble Design Detroit. 👉 3. Uplifting & Rebuilding Community Through changing individual lives, we seek to rebuild the greater community of Detroit. So far, we've helped 10,000 individuals and we don't plan on stopping! Get involved with our mission, and help us INSPIRE HOPE by transforming houses into HOMES. 🧡 Learn more on our website! #humbledesign #welcomehome #inspirehope #communitybuilding #endhomelessness #michigancharity #detroitcharity

At Habitat for Humanity, our mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Today’s ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on #JohnsonVGrantsPass – which aims to punish homeless residents for sleeping outside, even when they have no place to go – is counterintuitive to building community and hope. Jailing and fining human beings who are sleeping outside only makes homelessness worse. We hope that regardless of this ruling, communities in Oregon and beyond will take a more empathetic approach to working with community members without shelter. At the top of our minds is addressing the dire lack of affordable housing. We live in a time when many Americans struggle to afford housing – and the issue is especially acute in Oregon, where there is an extreme shortage of housing units. Affordable housing helps create the conditions that free families and individuals from stress and fear, helping build stability and confidence. We are motivated by today's ruling to lean into providing more affordable homes in communities across the state — through direct homebuilding and collective advocacy. Everybody deserves a decent place to live. We invite you to join us in taking meaningful, constructive actions — driven by empathy.

Let’s unite to support our unhoused neighbors. On Tuesday, we woke up to the certainty of a new President-elect. No matter who won your vote, we all sit with uncertainty about what the future holds under a new Administration. Many of us may be anxious about what this means for our communities over the next 4 years. Will we have the funding we need for critical services? Will housing remain affordable? Will jobs be available and pay an adequate wage to live in our area? With over 40 years of service to Silicon Valley, LifeMoves remains unwavering in our commitment to ending homelessness. Now, more than ever, we need you and our entire community to come together to ensure that people remain our top priority, no matter our politics. Informed by President Trump's first term and policy positions from the recent campaign cycle, we anticipate that a second term will include reduced government-funding for social services and housing. Our work to serve our unhoused neighbors facing extreme uncertainty in their daily lives—families, individuals, couples, seniors, Veterans… all people just like you and me—will continue. Millions of middle and working-class Californians are now facing a previously unthinkable reality: the threat of homelessness. The challenges and uncertainty may increase now, but we will not be deterred. Politics may ebb and flow, but real change starts at the community level. Every day, our team works with dedication to deliver critical services and transformative programs that empower our clients and elevate our communities. Last year, we served 7,500 individuals and families experiencing homelessness. All of this is made possible through your continued generosity; your gifts sustain and inspire our work into the future as public funds decrease and the demand for our work remains high. You can help us ensure that every person experiencing homelessness in our community has the necessary resources to attain self-sufficiency and a safe and a dignified place to call home. Thank you for standing with LifeMoves. United, we’re unstoppable! Hot take: You won’t get help if you don’t ask for it—both in life and in communities. Let’s rethink why we join communities. If we’re not planning to actively participate, we’re not just wasting our money—we’re also undervaluing the time and efforts of community managers. Commit to being an active participant or reconsider your involvement in communities you are part of. #community #CommunityBuilding
