🚀 Exciting News! The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is lending €100 million to Enefit Green for the construction and operation of the 255 MW Sopi-Tootsi wind park in Estonia. This new wind park will boost Estonia’s electricity generation capacity by up to 10%, contributing significantly to the EU's ambitious greening targets. 🌿 Enefit Green, a leading renewable energy company in the Baltic states, currently operates 587 MW of installed green capacity and 50 MW of heat capacity across the Baltic states, Finland, and Poland. This project also benefits from €180 million in parallel financing from the European Investment Bank, with additional funding from a commercial bank. Since its IPO in October 2021, Enefit Green is listed on the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange and boasts nearly 64,000 investors. The European Investment Bank (EIB) grants #DEPACommercial a loan totaling 390 million euros for the construction and operation of solar energy parks across the country. This energy will contribute to the production of approximately 800 MW of renewable energy, capable of powering 278,000 households. DEPA's Chairman Mr. Giannis Papadopoulos stated: "The agreement with the European Investment Bank brings the domestic energy market even closer to a sustainable future. At the same time, this financing is a "landmark" for strengthening the great effort we are making to transform DEPA into a fully integrated energy company that will contribute to the sustainable development of the country through coordinated actions and investments in new technologies and innovative solutions." The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Raiffeisen Bank International have joined forces to provide a €110 million financing package for two large-scale solar plants in south-eastern Romania, with a total capacity of 300 MW. Supported by the InvestEU guarantee, these projects will generate 386 GWh of renewable energy annually, avoiding around 160,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. This marks a significant step towards Romania’s goal of adding 11.9 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.
