At a time of political uncertainty regarding transition, I’ll be participating in the #CIFB tomorrow to show how competitiveness, climate action and nature preservation are interrelated Only 5% of companies have assessed their impact on biodiversity, when at the same time a 1 degree rise in global temperature would impact 12% of the global GDP. Solutions already exist, they just need to be disseminated. At this occasion, with Charles-Henri Prevost from blisce/, I will introduce the Reforest Fund tomorrow, a newly created NbSs impact investment structure, that aims to combine financial performance and ambitious climate objectives #sustainabledevelopment #finance #netzerotargets #agroforestry #SBTi #naturebasedsolutions #zerocarbon #parisagreement
𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗪, 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧’𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗜𝗙𝗕 (𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆) 🔜 #CIFB helps large scale corporations to develop a strategy for investments into forestry and #biodiversity, to reach a net zero future. As a major actor in the development of high-quality certified #carbon projects, we are convinced by the necessity to use carbon #finance as a lever (but not as an end in itself) and to tackle simultaneously climatic stakes and #biodiversity loss. In order to address these topics, Reforest’Action will lead 2 conferences: ➡️ 𝙍𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙙: 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 🕐 1st October, 14:50 - 15:20 Stéphane Hallaire (CEO & Founder, Reforest'Action) and Charles-Henri Prevost (General Partner, blisce/) will share their common vision of the possible and necessary reconciliation between environmental/social impact and financial performance. They will introduce the creation of the "Reforest Fund", a smart impact investment structure that aims at combining 2 pillars: project quality and derisking on one hand, and financial performance and investment derisking on the other. ➡️ 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣, 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 🕐 2nd October, 14:30 - 15:15 Stéphane Hallaire will discuss the new existing financial concepts that can bridge the gap between the complexity of the projects and their implementation on the ground. This conference will be led by Stéphane Hallaire, Hugh Salway (Senior Director, Market Development and Partnerships, Gold Standard Foundation), Tony Simons (Executive Director, CIFOR-ICRAF) and Erica Vertefeuille (Co-Founder, Terra Natural Capital). 📆 1-2 October 2024 📍 London 🤝🏻 CE Events & Media #sustainabledevelopment #netzerotargets #VCM #naturebasedsolutions #carbonmarkets #parisagreement #climatechange

Deployment of innovations in the European waterborne sector WaterborneTP welcomes the selection of waterborne projects in the framework of the EU Innovation Fund. To be able to comply with environmental targets, the deployment of innovations needs to be further increased and requires a targeted approach. Eero Lehtovaara: We warmly welcome the results of the call for proposals in the framework of the Innovation Fund. The results include a mix of both energy supply, and integration of technologies on board. In addition, the most recent results of the auction mechanism in the Innovation Fund presented specific waterborne projects in terms of dedicated fuel supply for maritime offtakes. We also express our gratitude for the principle of co-designing mechanisms like the EU Innovation Fund, in the context of the diversified European waterborne sector. In the coming months, we will continue to work on strengthening the deployment of innovations, which will be one of the key themes during the upcoming edition of the Waterborne Days 2025. Together we will be able to achieve sustainable competitiveness, to the benefit of us all. Full press release is available here: https://lnkd.in/eXvbtrn6

First stakeholders meeting of PoliRuralPlus project. We held the first stakeholder meeting for the PoliRuralPlus project on June 18th, 2024, at the MID office in Castleblayney. Following a brief introduction to the project and its research theme – "Unlocking the Potential of the Green Economy: Exploring Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Environmental Products and Services in County Monaghan" – we had a productive discussion on several key areas: • The development of the green economy in County Monaghan and potential untapped opportunities. • Brainstorming rural-urban business opportunities. • Identifying high-potential job sectors within the green economy and climate action. Fifteen experts from diverse sectors shared valuable insights, thoughts, and guidance on the green economy in County Monaghan. For further research, Irish Pilot has decided to consider incorporating topics such as the circular economy, carbon reduction, and biomass, particularly in the context of rural-urban connections. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101136910 #PoliRuralPlus #GreenEconomy #Monaghan

The I3-4-BLUE GROWTH project is driven by a committed consortium working on leading blue economy innovation ecosystems. By bringing together European leading actors representing public authorities, technology centres, and industry, the project will focus on capacity building and interregional cooperation for innovation and investment for projects in two main blue sectors: 🐟 sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and valorisation of blue resources 🔅 renewable marine energy and maritime decarbonization 🔛 WHAT’S GOING ON 📖 Handbook on Interregional Cooperation - Running now the procedures of a work package dedicated to “Ecosystem mapping, benchmarking and interregional innovation investment (I3) needs/ priorities”. The consortium surveyed to collect best practices on interregional cooperation. Through this action, a handbook will be presented to identify a collection of regional initiatives across Europe to showcase exemplary practices and raise awareness about available regional development tools, initiatives, projects, and best practices, and thereby strengthening peer-to-peer learning and know-how on opportunities to foster interregional innovation investment projects and cooperation in the blue economy sector. All results will be shared with stakeholders of the project and also available in I3-4-BLUE GROWTH project website. 🙌 I3 Working Groups - Now establishing a quadruple-helix (Q-helix) strategic working groups of relevant players and stakeholders with interest in interregional innovation & investments in the blue economy sectors targeted. This action will be carried out by consulting public authorities, regional development agencies, universities, and industry representative organizations with track records in the sector to advise on the needs and strategic priorities. The online sessions will be during May and June and are expected views on industrial, technical, and investment needs and advices on how to foster business-research-industry cooperation and how to foster interregional innovation investment projects will be shared afterwords.
